That is only self pitying and self delusion that whatever you did, as long as you THINK you are punishing yourself to atone for it, it will be fine.
That does NOT solve the problem. You still have not check your heart and learn from the issue.
Paying the price does NOT = to repentance.
Can you imagine how many times you have to hurt yourself just to nullify the penalty you did? Or how severe you have to do it if the penalty is BIG in your point of view? You can hurt yourself until you have 0 HP left and STILL it will NOT do justice to anyone. Not to the person you hurt? Not to the people around who loves you. Not even to yourself. You are only limiting yourself to what you REALLY can do to atone for what you did.
If you really think you cannot control your anger or what. Get a close person to whom you can account to. Every time you are upset by your anger, tell that person. Let that person help you in your process to control your anger or whatever else you think you should improve.
And hurting self is irresponsible. Because by doing so, you are also hurting the people who loves you. In that case you are committing more penalties than you think you are.
Unfortunately I am also aware of my stand and where I come from. I understand I am no one to you. I am no one to anybody here. My words can mean crap. Who am I to judge and comment? Yet I still say my piece because I care. Take for example when XshevchenkoX commented on something. I will tell him my views and help him because I care for him. Likewise you too when you commented on things, I try my best to 'help' you (if you want to see it that way).
A message to readers who think by hurting oneself, one can atone for something he/she/it did:
There are BETTER ways to atone for what you did. A simply 'sorry' is good enough. A smile can also make a day. A helping hand will tell the person you care. A simple conversation will show that the person is in your mind and thoughts.
