i am 17 can't find a job... parents nagging me to find job but the job don't call me
and i don't like to talk much so i don't like my parents my parents don't like me what can i do? -

in order for the company to call u for an interview,
1st, your resume(max 2 pages) & coverletter(max 1 page) must be attractive.
if not, there are so many applicants, how do u excel above them?
since u dont like talking, find a job that dont require u to talk much.
but rem, if company call u up for an interview, u still have to talk to response actively to their questions.

maybe they know ur waiting for ns..thats why they dont give u the job..
u can comfrim with them how many more months u have before u enlist?
try applying for other jobs..keep trying sure can get 1

what about trying a course in ITE Nitec, not so much studies, more hands on.

but seriously, if it's NS coming soon, don't bother. most companies or businesses nowadays tend to look for employees that can commit long term [ or at least 6 mths - 1 year ]. In any case, I would suggest you studying on .. part - time courses or night classes will help lots, as, sadly to say, a "N" Level cert will get you nowhere in future .. -

Or go do some self upgrading like teaching yourself a new language or skill.
borrow books from the library and let your parents notice your doing.
The companies did not call you, the reason might be because, you have not completed NS or you are waiting for NS. they would't wan to hire some1 who can only work for a few months...

getting a job is one thing but you seriously need more education whether your brain likes it or not...these days even if you want to sell insurance, you need 'o' levels...some insurance companies do not even want anyone lower than a degree....so seriously you need to get more cert than go through life this way....Originally posted by iluvmilky:any recommed what job should i try?
are you sure you can't even get jobs at those places you mentioned? i've seen damn jia lat employees there....then you need to ask why, is it your attitude, your appearance or some other stuff....
one way is for you to get a skill of sorts like cooking, baking, some technical jobs like fixing or building comps etc..... -
How about just go to technical school to be a carpenter, plumber, electrician, etc?
Nowadays everyone wants to go to uni and there are not enough trades people to do these works. Very soon you'll see a great demand for trades people. In Oz, there's definitely a need at the moment and these trades people actually earn more than most white collars.
So don't give up just because you're not good at studying. We need people with other skills too. Keep exploring for different things you can do.
