Hmmm... i'll nvr pick up hitch hikers, 1) you nvr know that they may be fleeing crooks and the cops might just make you one of their accomplice.
2) You nvr know that they would be like the person you just wrote about.
3) Not really a custom here in singapore to hitch hike or pick a hitch hiker unlike the US.
4) Extra weight, waste petrol.

I believe that there are many people who doesn't mind helping when an opportunity rises. Yet, because we do Not know when to say "No", we tend to get taken advantage of.
This is one of the scenarios.
At any time, when you were feeling uncomfortable, you should have just stopped the car, and let her out, or just tell her to shut up in a nice way.
I believe that's what any of the people in the US who pick up hitchhikers would do.
Some people need to know that we are doing them a service and favor, and we do Not OWE them anything. Rather, it is THEM who are owing us.
Sometimes the thought needs to be driven into their heads.
And if you don't wish to be affected negatively by incidents like this again, learn to say no.
Remember, it IS your car and you're the one driving! -

That oughta make a mark on her thick hippo skin she's too used to getting her way lah....... shock her thsi way and u'll be long gone before she can compose herself to remember ur license plate

Hmm,i work around there(bugis area) and dunno is it this lady that always hang around there that you are talking about...The chinese lady has greyish hair and she would always be wearing a same pink shirt and a pair of three quarter purple coloured pants or bermudas... always ask people around there for money to "help" her.Her excuse would be that she "many days never eat already,so can you give me ten dollars for food?" I used to pass her a couple of dollars,until i once saw her walking into the restauraunts and eating there... I refused to "help" her since then,and would just tell her that i "helped" you already,she wud just move on to the people behind me.Anybody here encounter her before?

No doubt that was reali an unlucky incident, but if u had ignored her n she turns out to be someone who reli needed a ride urgently, u could end up feeling real guilty.
At the veri least, ur fren went way beyond his convenience to help someone and even though it wasnt appreciated, he know he didnt do anithin wrong eh. -

come on, u are kind hearted but dere are many pple who take ur kind hearted for granted. why bother? dun say no compassionate heart or wadever s.h.i.t, i will say, welcome to the real world. yes, to a certain extend u can help pple dat u dunnoe but lending money to dem OR hitching a ride on my car is a NO-NO. learn how to protect urself. -

sorry, for me, after reading cases in JB and other countries are very wary of people who are near my car when I want to open the door in case they rush in..
I am not for hitch-hiking cause once they are in the car, I feel you are at their mercy.. -
Hitch-hiking is an alien concept to most locals.
