hey guys.. every time i brush my hair for about 15secs, abt 3-5 strains of hair drops out to the table.. is this normal? My family has a history of balding shieks.. is it possible that i don't inherite the genes?

3-5 strands is normal lah
if u are dropping/shedding more than 10 strands during each brushing then you have to start worrying
lifestyle and diet play a part too....
if u stress u oso can drop hair
if u eat too much salt oso can drop hair -

once when i was waxing my hair, i saw abt 10 strands on the toilet sink.. was really really worried.. thats not normal right? -
i heard one day drop 50 strands is considered ok leh.

Why of all the hair must drop our head hair ? Why doesn't it drop hair from other places ley ?

actually is normal to drop 100 strands of hair per day.
do u have oily hair? danduff? -

but seriously.. if u are afraid of inherit ur family balding.. is better to check on any balding at any part of ur head occasionally.. cos is easier to cure it sooner than when the pore is closed & dead.. cos i realise the students in my course, thou' they are very young,a lot are aldy suffer from balding.. but i dare not tell them, cos not too close to reveal this to them.

i had a friend when he was 20 he started to lose his hair. his forehead seemed to be higher and the crown on top of his head got less. ppl commented so too. he saw the doc and used regaine 3%, then upgraded to regaine 5%. when he was in army it was troublesome to use regaine. the doctor finally recommended him propecia worse come to worse transplant. now he takes propecia daily since 2004.

and at the same time my friend seek advice for his pimples and the doc recommend a cream. very effective. apply it at night and the scars and pimples subside. cos my friend suffer frm hair loss its inherited his dad start to bald in his 40s he use a special shampoo- pregaine.

did pregaine really help? i mean if the top of your head is completely hairless, how would pregaine help? it seems almost impossible to grow hair out of nothing. -

if your top of head completely hairless then u start to think of solutions i think its too late. the min they can do is to prevent or slow down hair loss. the best i heard is grow some hair. -
do you think i should go to national skin centre and see a doctor asap? its not very serious though.. how much are the fees and will taking their stuff to prevent hair loss have side effects?

its better to go n c what the doc says. at least u get a piece of mind rather than think abt it over time. no harm man. my advice is see the doc as a pte patient. waiting time shorter.

cos there was once, my bf was nearly bald at one patch behind his head, which he wouldnt be able to c it even if he is facing the mirror, unless if he use 2 mirror to check his head all over.
lucky i realise it earlier. he went to polyclinic, & they give him something to apply. but the result wasnt there, so he went back again, this time, they refer him to national skin centre. his was due to bacteria, & after applying cream from nsc, his hair grow back.
so is better to realise it earlier.
p.s. if u want to go to national skin centre, to save money, go to polyclinic. they will refer u there if necessary. it will be a lot cheaper. -
