i have two friends one with a motorbike license and one without.
the one without too kan cheong bought a bike and went to hiong and was snapped going through ERP without cashcard. LTA investigate discover owner no license and no road tax no insurance call him down for investigation
he then very scared he's 21 this year, then he asked our friend with a license 20 years old to go and help him tell them a story.
the one with license then agree cos they are good pals. so they cook up a story at LTA investigation that the one without license is bike owner and lend bike to friend with license, and they did apply for it to be legally ridden by the license guy at a "shop" (which dosent exist). "shop owner" said there and then can be ridden.
both thier statement apparently was written down. they dumb dumb think can escape but the knowing how efficent singapore gov is at fines, the LTA IO ask them to get statement or contact no. of the "bike-shop owner". they then know hong kan liao, if never get contact no the one with license will fine 400-600 dollars and license revoke for 1-2 years.
they say they didnt expect to be until so bad
, so they one w/o license dont want to hai his fren, so he decided to admit, the LTA IO ask them to go down to be re-interview.
so anyone know what is charge for false statement and riding without license and insurance without roadtax.

haiz, the one with license close to me sia... he very naive and silly , very easy kenna eaten, but the one without license also a good guy. both thier future ruined over such a stupid thing, i feel damn sian

Moral of the story: if you get into trouble, don't ask someone else to risk getting into trouble himself just to help you.
Otherwise, you'll both get into more trouble than ever... which is exactly what happened in this case.
No ERP cashcard + riding without licence + no road tax and insurance + false statement to LTA... in all honesty, be mentally prepared to see at least one of them going to jail. -

How he buys the bike. Its a laid down bike right? Thats why it has no road tax? It means the bike has to be parked at a certain location. Who was the previous owner and who helped with the lay down bike procedure?
It sounds suspiciously like someone I knew. Who has no bike licence and bought a bike. Under influence by a acquaintance which the acquaintance took advantage of and stole the bike and sell it to another party w/o bike licence and took the bike for a spin and ended up caught on cam at the erp.
Or maybe its just too rampant that young folks like to hiong?
So now the fren was caught riding w/o licence, insurance & road tax and passing thru a ERP w/o a cashcard. The penalty is still a hefty fine and banned from driving or riding for a couple of years.
The other fren with the false statement. He can either admit truthfully and apologise like nobody's business and hopefully get off with a warning or at worse, a fine. -

The friend with licence, please plead to the LTA for forgiveness, and keep him out of the soup, for making false report.

Both offences the court will view seriously.
No riding suspension, because he no licence mah.
But cannot apply for PDL for at least 1 year.
Bike may be confiscated though. (not sure) -

haah what can i say but thanks for the replies, and most of them are accurate, my friends say now mostly is up to lta to report to police, fine or maybe charge drop for the license friend. the other hiongster is in great trouble now, possible jail term.
anyway someone asked how the guy get the bike, i think he bought it from a private seller i think. no need to show license. then the seller just want to sell it off and help him do layup i guess
