backstabbing collegue

What to do with those people who will do anything in front of the boss?
Once this collegue seemed nice and well, was kinda being able to click with us. But apparently he has made some remarks about us to the boss. I felt that we were harmoniously working together and this happened. I felt he somehow betrayed our trust of working together.
After this, I tried to distant myself from him. Did not IM or talk to him. He was bossy and I felt more and more repulsive by the day. I realised that most of my collegues did not like him either. It looked like he was trying to control the scene, but all of us felt he was too bossy and he is cunning and we do not respect him. One thing i hate about him is giving snide remarks and being so confident of himself when he knows nothing. He also likes to boast of things or actions he has never experienced before.
Could it be because of certain events which made us change our perception of him?
How do I deal with it? I do not want to work with him anymore but what if I am forced to work on assignments with him? How do I cope? -

thought it was more of a friendship problem so I posted here. Was wondering how to do in this case where friendship is jeopardised.

Be truthful to yourself. Be true to your conscience. Know what is morally right and stick to it. That is, if you know what is right and wrong, morally and corporately.

Be professional. Just treat him as a colleague and nothing else.
There are shi.tty people at the workplace all the time.
Don't let his actions irritate you as you just do your job and he does his. If he tries to boss you around, be firm in your work. Do not let him find any fault with you.
Talk to him as per normal. It's hard to enjoy work when you hate your colleague. -

I believe in an eye for an eye especially in the working world. You can hardly make friend with colleagues. It's a dog eat dog world out there. If I got stab I make sure I stab back. Everybody got their own working style if he is your boss or superior you just have to bear with it until you quit

Don't care about him. backstabbing bastards are all over e place. You'll have to learn that u're able to work with these pple. Backstabbing can bring pple to e top, but can't keep them there. Get ur principles right and ignore all e rest.
