There's one MINDEF staff's nephew only just ONE year old got blood cancer and need B+.

i got it also...
for people who have doubts abt this sms, i can tell u this is not a prank sms..
bcos my sis knows this little boy.
from what i heard.. there are ple who received this sms and went to the hospital to donate blood.. but stupid hospital told them that their blood will be given to the blood bank or whatsoever.. for those poor people..
I find this really ridiculous..
a little boy needs the blood critically.. can't they let him have the blood first?
how much blood they want in the blood bank sia? what if the little boy cannot make it bcos of the waiting? -
i think the boy alright le. i read from hwz forum that he went home liao.

But your blood needs screening, in the event you do not know if your blood have any problems. Some ppl got Hep B, HIV also dunno.
You give your blood, and samples is sent to test if your blood is ok.
At the same time after you donate, the same blood type in the blood bank, which is declare good and clean, is released to the person waiting for your blood.
Not only it replaces the correct balance, only clean blood which pased screening is given to the receipient. Get it? -

I found that whenever there is anyone whose life is in danger and any one of their parents are from army , mindef , etc. It seems that they will enjoy more " coverage " when sending need for help and also will have more pple helping them as compared to any poor soul whose parents are not from any govt uniform group/organizations . I remember that when i was still in ns , we were told that one of the mindef high ranking officer son is in hospital and is in need of o+ blood . I'm very sure we are not the only camp they " advertised " for help . But anyway just because the " sos " came from a high officer , the officer treat it like it is part of our duty to donate blood to save him and even scolded us for being slow to fall in and taking our time to consider , as they wanted to rush to hospital almost immediately to donate blood . To me its like as if their life is much more impt then any other pple . I bet when some other pple needed blood , they won't even be bothered abt it .

The Blood Bank takes care of all requisitions for blood by the hospitals. Blood is free in Singapore. People are encouraged to donate blood, and appeals are made to relatives and friends of patients to donate. It is not compulsory. B+ is not a rare type of blood.
when needed, they will get it from blood bank.
if u really wanna help, u can go HSA outram dere to donate also.
there are lots of pple whose blood is B+ and are donors. -
