I know that everywhere is having this problem. But is there a way to escape it?? I mean...we are jus there to do our job, and there are politics all around, backstabbing, gossipings.. why cant pple be more friendly??

Because office people have too much monotony in their lives and gossip livens up the place.
When you're upset with your own dull day-to-day existence, you pick on other people's faults in order to forget your own.
You can't avoid it. Even if you were the boss of the company, you'll still be targetted by the gossip-mongers. Unless you're totally low-profile, then you'll be passed over for any promotions or bonuses.
It's all very dog-eat-dog... how taxing it is... the corporate environment.

it makes office life so much more interesting .. it afford you the chance to create a bit of chaos, to take a little bit of revenge .. and get a promotion and pay raise by stepping over someone else`s head to become the boss`s favourite .. its a game you`re forced to play for as long as you`re working in the job. learn to play it well defensively .. learn to confront people properly, they won`t be so eager to take advantage of you.Originally posted by FATnUGLY:I know that everywhere is having this problem. Do we have to please everybody?? Take for instance: If u are trying to be friendly, people think that u are upto something. What could have created this type of mentality?? When u know the answer, u would be asking yourself, why bother??

its office .. its business .. friendship generally get thrown out the door, especially when you want to do well in your career .. being friendly to colleagues, especially some devious ones, is just inviting them to backstab you. really. choose your allies carefully, and trust only those who have proven worthy of trust.
