The problem I think is that religion is not realistic and you have to use effort to cling on to it. It is like a car going uphill, you switch off the engine and release the handbrake, you slide down.
When you have to face reality day in day out, the "beliefs" become "unreal" "nonsense" and you wonder why. The believers than try to renew their beliefs. The problem is that religion is unreal. It is better to simply face reality. -

Infact, its better to live with the truth than to delude ourselves. Believing in god does not solve any problems. Believers are still having problems coming with terms with things. -

However, I would recognize the quirk just as it is, that one's bond with one's fellow religious mates comes only from the association to a particular religion, not really from a true involved relationship.
