sumtimes when I see other fathers talking to their sons about everything under the sun, sharing similar interest, i do feel envy eh? at the very least, I have someone to look upon to.

Old fashion.
Your father is probably one whom grown up with same kind of father.
One whom was never very involved in his childhood/growing years.
So naturally, your father would follow the same model as your grandfather.
For he believes that is how a father should be.
If you don't like the way your father treats you. Tell yourself you will be a different father to your own children.
You cannot change the way your father behave, since it has been like this for the past 20 years.
A person who receives no love, can give no love.
It takes a lot of courage and effort to start giving love out of nothing. -
Have...but I thot they're mostly from the older generation. They think by providing the basic (roof, schooling, etc) for the family is already very good in fulfilling their responsibilities. As a result, it affects the upbringing and personality of the children...they won't feel really loved and secure. The children must learn to be more independent and responsible for their own lives, coz the father or parents won't be there to molly coddle them if anything goes wrong. -
Don't spend your time worrying about this and waste your life.

Hmmm... sounds like a bit of an exaggeration. I think culture and biology has it that men find it harder to display their emotions. Just try and talk to him, respect him, in time to come he may speak to you like you're a young man. You're a guy, not a ballerina. It won't help pointing a finger at your dad for stunted growing years. You're responsible for your own life, not your dad.
Just my 2 cents worth. At least you don't have a drunken kid bashing monster for a pa. Lucky boy. -
It's fated you can't choose to born into which family. If you have a ignorance father who think that by just providing you with shelter, food, and school fees and nothing more, and he has thought that he had done the role of a father then you are going to be sad.

going overseas is a waste of time and money. Next time when you start working, go spend all your money studying overseas then you will see why.

until now , if i hear his voice calling me even if its 6 am and i just slept at 4 or 5.. i will instantly wake up. And respond.When young living with him is living with fear.
He also encourage me to go have many girlfriends and girl friends. We have NOTHING to talk about except work related stuffs. Eating or drinking with him might as well be eating or drinking alone. But he has many stuffs to talk about to my older brother and sister.
But one good thing is that , want money he just give. I never ask money from him. But every now and then he will like ask .. 'You qian yong ma ? Na..5K , ni hao hao yong.. na qu.. wo yao zuo shi qing' his usual line. I just 'O' n take it.
The company i working now he is one of the directors. N he treats me like shit. -

Your father have to treat you like dirt in the company for good reason.
He don't want to come across as favoring his own son, because other employees will get jealous.
If you don't like being treated this way, best thing to do is go find a job elsewhere. -
No matter how, he is still your father, respect him. Since as a son, you have learnt and understand yr father strange behavior of neglecting you, next time, when you are a father yourself, dun do that to your sons.
For without your father, you may not be around. A fatherly figure sometime hide their emotion from you, and they have to earn money to help the family as much as possible, perhap your father cannot afford to send you overseas thereby is frustrate by himself for not able to provide you what you wish for, but i can guarantee that deep inside him, he loves you very very much, full broadband no limit love. It just that as a father, he cannot simply express his feeling, he got his pride and fatherly figure to hold. If you are a good son, you should tell him, it alright Dad, i know your difficulties, thanks for bringing me up, I love you daddy. I think he will cry and be very happy.
