For a start, altering your mindset by having more belief in yourself and whatever you do (even if you risk failure and ridicule at your own expense by others) is about all you need. I'm afraid I can't share anything much with TS about improving self-confidence. Cos I'm struggling with it myself.
But my personal opinion and belief at the moment is, self confidence comes from being able to accept and learn from failures, be open-minded towards new information and ideas, and lastly, slowly learn to contribute what you've learned to help others (eg: you are good at maths, and you volunteer to help needy students with their homework, etc). Of course, that's not all that is to it. Just listing what comes to my mind right now.
May you be able to improve your self-confidence one day, TS.
