If you insist on getting a personal transportation.
Your mom would PREFER that you get a car instead of bike.
Because car is safer than bike.
BUT, if you really die die (no pun intended) must get a bike.
Then my suggestion to you.
Get yourself a good term life insurance policy, make sure it also covers disability.
So that, if any thing happens... your mom and what ever liabilities will be covered.
Remember, if anything happens to you, AKA broken limps, your income ability will be ZERO. And your mom will have to take care of you AND earn a living, AND be the man of the house, AND be the mom to your other siblings.
So, do your family a favor. -

Now is not the time to make your mom worry.
Divorce procedure is a very stressful time.
Emotionally, your mom is very fragile right now.
And she will need all the support from her love ones.
It will take some time for everyone including herself to settle into a life without your delinquent father.
Give her some time.
