you're asking if u're a valued staff member or a redundant one rite?
i'd hope for ur sake, and for ur efforts, that u are a valued staff member. however in ANY good company, no one should be indispensible. EVERYONE (staff, not directors etc) can be replaced. of course that's just the theory, and from the company's point of view that's wat it should be.
maybe in ur case, (hopefully not) mgmt might be taking u for granted becos they see no problems and think that u're not doing ur job. if they really are that "blind" and release u, they will start running into problems since u're not there. however as far as u're concerned, that's already too late.
so i guess now is to make urself more "visible" and try to make sure ur work gets noticed. of course there are tonnes of ways to do this, but i'm sure u u will work out the best way without coming across as someone who's boastful or even carrying balls.
