i totally agree. i have came pass many times, when i was in my 20s.
when i want to date one of the girls on sunday a few time, she keep on say she not free. finally i give up and feel very down . Then i met someone and get marry.
Now i am in my 30s and have 3 kids.
i heard from my friend that girl still single today -

The thing here is expectations ought to be maintained at a realistic level for there're quite a few categories of people who would not fit into the above category even if they liked you.
For a start, lots of these folks who claim to be busy are genuinely busy (for all the wrong reasons, you might add) simply because they haven't got the faintest clue where their priorities lie and do not appreciate the fact some sacrifices (such as proper time management) are needed for just about everything in life. That said, it'd make perfect sense for anyone to stay away from such people as romantic partners because the last thing anyone would want is to have a partner whose lives and priorities are so messy they'd forsake you for work (and vice versa) during family time. -

Well I think it really depends on how long you have been normal friends already. She might think that you are just asking her out on a casual outing and does not want to get too excited about it even if she did see you as a potential bf. Because taking time out a busy schedule to meet a guy friend whom she likes but thinks he does not have such feelings for her, it's not rationale. Not when there's loads of things to do.
On top of that, keeping the friendship is more important. So she may not want to think too much about it. Unless of cos you are clear that it's a date and not a platonic outing.
