Current situation
Having a dilema on what to do next.
require some advise from you guys who might have gone thru this or had overcome this kind of situation
Current situation,
Working full time and study part time.( wrking almost 3 yrs and 2nd yr in degree course)
Getting tired of working for this company as dun feel like the way management goes.
Pay wise is average i think, (2k plus gross include transportation, no commission), no prospect to advance as doing sales.
Wanna quit and look for job in other fields. But need paycheck to pay for school fees and other expense so need to consider b4 take the plunge. ( no sponsership frm parents and also need to suppement household expense)
Plan to procede to either car sales, biomedical related field( which is wat i am studying now) or open a own business. So how's the prospectus of the various field?
Had seen that biomedical is very limited and mostly are looking for reseacher and things like that. was also thinking was this degree going to really worth it?
Any advise for above situation?

If you are still studying, I would advise you not to change your job.
Firstly, you need the paycheck.
Secondly, sometimes, a new job may be overwhelming that you will find it hard to get used to it, and thus, your studies will suffer as a result of it.
However, if you can find another job with a higher pay and less responsibilities than your current job, by all means and change it.
I guess the last thing that you would want to happen to you is that your new paycheck cant compared to your current one and you have additional responsibilities which will make your studies suffer.

Biomedical Science field, go into this field if only you have the passion.

I have a diploma in BMS, but plan to get a degree in business. BMS is too specialised. Do you have specialisation? I did.
YOu mentioned car sales. Are u into sales? Why not sell biomed/ med products? You put ur knowledge and interest together. -
i see my frens who major in biomedical.. took months to find one pathetic job...
erm...
if u know that u are gg to do something related to ur biomedical degree, then continue to pursue the course... moreover, u have come this far.
but if u think that this is not wat u want, then maybe drop it so that u wun waste more time and money? -

Below is what i gone through.
wanted to go into biomedical but tough luck this is the reply i got from interview.
1) not qualify for biomed position as no dip in that.
2) u still study P/T??? ok will contact u again.
Can see that the biomed field is small in SG as the demand is lacking as i feel SG is more focus on things that can make $$$ for SG like discover on some blockbuster drugs. (that's y government pump in some much $$$ in )
Think that in biomedical field just like in manufacturing.
degree: operators
master: supervisor
PHD: department head
not related degree or lower but got business ideas and $$$: CEO.
the above is my thinking and might not be correct and waiting for someone in the field to confirm. -

Master degree -> Senior lab technician(research) research scientist, supervisory position.
PhD -> Research. Now Singapore only have very few of PR(Private Researcher); Those who research based on their individual findings. If you can get to this level, it's remarkable.

For me, I am sort-of emo person.. don't really like socializing..
So research is my cup of tea..

don't quit so fast, save some $$$ 1st.
It takes time to find new jobs and you nid extra $$$ to survive the job searching period...so be all prepared for the worst...
coz it might happen tat once you quit, u got to wait for a couple of monthes or more to get a new job... -
i'm doing the BMS. as now i'm also in sales line (selling Attendance readers and car-park system) but i dun see any future in the company as no well define training and attach 3 month to old bird and off u go and make sales.Originally posted by Darkness_hacker99:May I know what degree you are currently studying?

The sales target for me every month is almost the same for sole distributor (which is another company), i thinking am i being ripped off? or wat?
