What can cause heat?
Faulty wiring.
Electricity is not flowing smoothly. This causes heat to build up.
Faulty appliances, (ceiling light)
The ballast may be faulty, and is heating up.
This could also be the reason why the light is difficult to start up.
Accidents happen when you ignore the warning signs.
Be responsible, look into the matter with more understanding. -

So appears that I may have lost the right to utilize my own appliances :'(
Fact 1
HDB requires that all cabling to be change every 7 years including your water tank above your HDB flat. Check with your town council if you do not believe me.
Fact 2
Faulty wiring do cos the surrounding around to heat up.
Fact 3
The faulty wiring may in time be a danger to your family and may cos fire due to leakage.
My advice get a electician to change your wiring to the kitchen. -

Your neighbor may be correct.
My upstairs neigbor complained about the same thing before.
I checked my ceiling light and it was faulty.
One of the wire is already blackened and needs to be fixed.
My family was very shocked when the electrician showed us the damage.
He said we are very lucky the faulty light did not catch fire.
The switch we are using also has a bad connection, so every time we turn it on, there will be tiny sparks coming out from it.
In the end, we paid a lot more to redo the wiring and change a new light.
Now we have switched to those energy savings LED lightings.
Some people may be more sensitive to heat. That is perhaps why your neighbor feels the warmth more than you.
Sometimes, just be a little more accepting and understanding.
It is not always about your own rights and privileges. -

The problem is she does seem to be spying on my house. Everytime the light is off, she stops complaining, but like instantly after i switch it back on, she will complain that very same day, and there probably is no logical way to check if my light is on, unless she actually goes downstairs to look back up.
The catch for me is that my lamp is problematic. Somehow if i turn it off, I'll never be able to turn it back on for a long while, unless I am patient enough to switch it on and off for like 100 times before it sometimes comes on by chance. Hence I keep it on, or else my kitchen is just dark and I see no reason for me to render my kitchen to darkness just because of a stupid neighbour complaining.
Alas, we have a new definition of "Hotspot". You find them on a HDB floor really.
Guess it's better to have your lamp checked for defects and potential hazard. This is very true and since it's faulty, do consider changing to something more power saving. Better than switching on-off a million times.
Faulty electrical works can really cause BIG problems like fire hazard, interference to cordless phones, and your neighbour's feet getting well-done! -
Better ask a technician to check since it takes about 100 times to switch on. Do you switch on your kitchen light for the whole nite? is not very energy saving also

There is a problem with the light. Leaving it on all the time consumes electricity more than necessary. It probably is consuming even more electricity due to an internal fault, hence the 'heat' on neighbour's floor.
It's a no brainer. Get it fixed man. -
On a similar note, I have a friend whose neighbour below leaves the room aircon blowing towards the ceiling (because he does not want the aircon blowing directly at himself) all day and night until my friend's floor become wet all the time.
Ever come across this before? Certainly new to me!! -
Huh! like this also have, never mind ask yr neighbour to change her kitchen to sauna room, natural hot sauna to ease stress.
Alternatively, she dun have to buy frying pan, just use the floor as hot plate can liao. Save -
