Chapter 1
It was that time of the year again.I shrugged nonchalently as i breezed past the notice board
The school had started its talentime program again and. to be honest, it was reallly dull,with the head honcho of the school,Cowboy Long"Aik Sing" doing his signature western ho dance.
I glanced closer to the notice.Never had i once tried out for an audition.Call me dumb, but i never thought fame and fortune appealed to my calling.
In a rash move, i drew out my pencil hastily and signed off my name.
Someone giggled.Obviously Sarah, who had never missed a chance to spoil my day anyway.If looks could kill,i would have murdered her many times over
"Hey, whats that all about?" i rolled my eyes in a sarcastic manner
"Oh my god, this is gonna wreck up your class in laughter!"Sarah countered
"Cmon, put your name on the list too" i challanged, bemused that Sarah was turning pink .
"Alright then.. Lets see who can get to the finals ;me or you?"Sarah bantered off a list of talents she could do.
'Well see ya, princess" i retorted
An sms shattered the agony that had enraptured me moments ago.
"Dear Nick, Lunch at two pm"Love, Mum
Oh boy, just what i need. -

There she was, Sarah and her cronies, halfway across the corridor
"Oei smlj, where you going?""KNN, i still havent settle with you yet"Sarah mockingly said
"Whatever your buisness har, take it to the fishmonger hor, i got no time for child's play leh" I gave her the brush off.
I breezed past those cronies and out of the door.In my mind's eye, i could see Sarah fuming, as though someone had set her on fire.
"Lalala, no one can touch me, i taunted Sarah, "Come lor"
I had barely gone ten metres when a sharp pain erupted near my spine.
Sarah's crony had kicked me right in the pelvic bone.I had no time to think.
I spotted an exit. Right across Serangoon Avenue 6.Not the best of exits, but i had a desperate situation. And desperate situation warranted desperate solutions.
I ran helter-skelter, oblivious of Sarah's mad screaming, calling for me to be captured.
I ran past the road.
The screeching tires,smouldering asphalt was all it needed to tell me that. it was hopeless.
Screams came everywhere. And as human impacted against metal, i agonised for certainly near to breaking point.
And as soon as it had started,i could only find barely enough energy to lie peacefully
"Nick, dont die"I heard a familiar voice calling me, rough hands only handling my body with the hearth i was so barely going to lie in
"Sara...h.."i could only manage a whisper,"I am.. sorry" -
wow... that's fast... end of story??

All hell broke loose.
Sarah had propped me up against the lamp post,screaming at her cronies to get help.
The car had acclerated away
"Its alright Nick, youre gonna make it,"Sarah cuddled me in her arms
"I am.. so cold..." i could only whisper.
Streams of blood lacerated my head.I was gradually losing conscious
"Nick, Nick , Nickk!".Sarah slapped me across the face
"I gave a creased smile"You... know, i never knew that this would someday..

"Oh shut up". Sarah retorted
"Keep talking to me anyway , ambulance is coming, for fucks sake"
"ha... ha.. you might as well marry me while youre at it"I gripped her hands
'You sure Nick, I could have your babies in the ambulance"Sarah chipped in.
It was the most agonising moment i had ever experienced.
"I could only barely whisper a thanks to god, when the ambulance finally arrived.... -

"Maa... i started".In an instant, a stattaco burst of firey words burst out from her mouth.
"Tell you dont play liao, run here run there, see lah end up in hospital leow"She really didnt know anything.Her nagging was so... retarded .I really wish i could had at least expired.
"See lah, doctor tell you you nearly died you know" "Dad nearly went off his rocker leh"
"Haiyo... at least his rocker wasnt suspended from 19th storeh ar"i blasted back
"Nick!" "Still got time to joke ar? Dying no regrets hor?" Mum chided
Blasted.... I wish i could had at least, got the mute ..button..
I could see Sarah ,still clad in her bloody outfit, giggling away at the door
"Oi Sarah,think so funny ar??" I beckoned her to my bedside
"No lah.. I see you acting like so funny leh"Sarah playfully punched my injured pelvic area.
"Ow."! Grimancing , i turned to punch at her boobs, but a sharp pain near the left arm prevent me from doing so, and crying out loud.
"Nick!" Careful leh".. Sarah tucked me back inside
"Wa lao you really notti leh, punch me after i nearly died"
I really enjoyed her face turning pink again
"Oii. Exchange number wan?"I beckoned to my handphone, flashing a cheeky grin in the process". Sarah was the equivilent to a ripe cherry now.
"Okay lah, but dont send me anything ridiculous ar.." Sarah punched in her number
I was in heaven.. Was this fate? -
It was an agonising wait in Singapore General Hospital, where i spent the remainder of September, October in the ICU.
Sarah popped in everyday. Boy, she was really becoming a pest.Carting up loads of homework when i've been in a fatal accident?
"Oi... not again.. So much homework.. i rattled off...... "Biology, maths, english.. what not."
"Its mandatory, and finish them up or else i submit them blank and have the teacher come up here to see what kind of "holiday" you are having"Sarah grinned
"You reallly have a very good sense of.. battle judgement eh" i shot..out
"Not really lah.Now, finish the homework.I will stay and guide you"Sarah pulled out the English assignment
"Aww......."i groaned in agony..
"Dont fake it"Sarah started
"ok ok alright you win laa....."Later i go school announce that you were gonna have my babies in the ambulance"i countered
"Nick!"Dont you dare... or else i get my cronies to come after you helter skelter again... And ill make sure you get run down
"Wah.. so violence..""Heng never ask for marriage engagement"
She turned bright red."Was now the perfect time??
"Sarah.I love you..." -

Sarah did not respond.
"Sarah, Anything the matter?' i enquired
"Erm.. Nick... Gimme a few moments, okay?" Im very confused right now
I glanced at my homework.It seemed like an eternity.
I reached out for pitcher.To my surprise, Sarah touched my hand.
"I'm sorry Nick.. Its not that i really dont like you..."Her voice trailed.. off
I placed my hand right on hers.I was totally crushed,but i daren't show it
"Its alright. I knew that was coming.." I could only tremble.
Without a word, i reached out for my crutches.
Sarah stared at me.
"Where the hell are you going? "
"I need a walk. Alone". I couldnt say anymore.
I left Sarah on the bed, hobbling towards the lift in an apparent bid to escape the source of agony. -
"Why?... Why? I could scream in agony. This was too painful to bear.
A sheer wreck, i collapsed near the parapet.The answer came, in a moment of sheer ingenuity.
I struggled relentlessly, muscle upon muscle summoning thier last strength.I could take solace in that the final drop would free me of this ugly chains that bound me.
At last, i was atop the parapet, a sheer drop 12 storeys away, I had planned to unveil this ring that i had bought .At the ward.But fate had chosen to take this away at my expense.
All chances finished, i took the ring out, wore it.
I kissed a last goodbye. And with it, i took the final plunge.
Sarah could only gasp as i flew past the window, i had no regrets anyway. -
will he survive? if he die then no story already right?
