Hi guys, some of you may recall me since the day i posted about my problems after my posting in ns. Now i'm back!
My R.O.D date in on the 18th April and i'm currently planning what to do after finishing my service to the nation. I'm stuck between redoing my 'O's or revising till the end of this year and then applying for next's year's 'O'. The reason for this is because I've left school for a very long already, i'm rusty and mouldy =( so I don't really have the confidence that if i chiong my studies this year i will get a good pass. Any tips guys? My previous O had only English Maths Social Studies Science and Pure Hist. Outta this Subjects i only got A2 for English And A1 for Pure Hist n Social Studies. My Maths and Science are both D7 thus holding me back.

ROD? ... u mean u no reservist ?
aye yes no reservist ;)
NS instills discipline in you, so there should be NO problem in concentrating on your studies. What I recommend is to just do the ten year series over and over again , sure pass one =)
Practice and more practice.
well discipline aside but i'm afraid 3 years away from the books and i don't think i can recall much anymore
Have confidence in yourself . Education wise, u'll face a tougher route if you enter a tertiary institution, rather than doing the O levels. Think about it , the O levels are actually 'easier' since u have taken it a few years ago. You should be already mentally prepared for it. Imo, it will be a cakewalk .
Homework Forum is for you.
wow can try for poly? hmm see can study what then study what lor
think positive you can do it!!!wow you got A1 for english
let me guess... you like writing essays?
10 yr series...![]()
o'level just practice and memorise... and it will be impossible to do badly.
go and study :D

Yes, go and study,...it time to look for yr future and what the future demand, for eg, with the resorts coming out, they needs alot of service people,...u can be a chef, a rest captain, a hotel manager, a resort security manager and building safety officer etc etc..it time to choose the correct one and zoom into it.
Study the right course and be smart ya...dun blur blur anyhow study then later also no use...waste time. Get a gf to support you ya.
You can also try getting a private tutor to guide you along if you need directions.....
Practice straight out of the TYS is also not a bad option, or you can try to get hold of past year papers, ie from your secondary school days, and try to re-attempt them to see how you've improved.
O level cert is important, the stepping stone towards higher education, please fight for good results
maths and science are something u practise and practise and u can do well
The thing is i look at the books and stuff in the bookshops and everything is so much more difficult than what it used to be. I want to go into maritime engineering but still my points are too much and further more I don't have chinese as an extra sub to help cause I really really really suck at it lolz. My parents do not wish for me to go ITE either because they feel it would be taking a step back. My siblings outdo me in almost everything cept for techincal stuff but still my parents want me to study. My younger sis is pending entry into NTU and my elder bro's already a lawyer so i have big shoes to fill and this stress is really getting to me =(.
study study and study some more.
dunno what future you'll have if you don't even have Os.
since you wanna step into marine engineering, you should focus more on your science and maths, try amaths too. it would be an advantage. humanities, don't spend so much time on them. if you can prioritise correctly, the o levels should be of no problem to you. all the best man.
Haha.. Angel7030 damn funny... blur blur anyhow study then later also no use. Actually i wanted to point out in fact alot of the students actually did that. They have no idea what they wanted to do after they grad from their studies. They just studied for the cert.
Anyway, I wanted to encourage you for thinking to retake your O levels as it will never be too late. Look Luck in your studies and choose a course that you have passion in it.
