Help.I was scammed.

I found a two days job during my current holiday.
Work for two days in the end cannot contact the contractor to collect my pay.
His handphone seemed to be switch off all the while.
Wonder if this is consider a scam ?
And what can I do ?
Somebody help me pls.

report to MOM.even though the guy cannot be contacted,police can trace his line.
BTW,do u have any black and white to prove to MOM that u worked for him for 2 days?Simple one like written piece of paper can do.

Did you sign any contract? Not sure if MOM will do anything, but worth an attempt to report him to the ministry.

Just what did you got yourself into in the 1st place? Did you have any written agreement and/or any written terms for your temporary assignment? If not, seek out the office who had engage this contractor for the assignment and perhaps get his other contact numbers.
Even if you decide to go the authorities, I am sure you will not have a case if your account is as vague as this post.

Not really, the place where he accomplished his assignment would be a good start to begin with.
The only consideration is the amount involved for his 2 days there. I don't think is substantial.

It's a packing job in a factory.
I dont have black and white.
I was only given a piece of paper to fill in my particulars and to sign on it,
but it was for him to keep.
After fulfilling the assignment given, we can't contact him though his handphone number.
When I called , it's some sort of like his handphone is turned off.

Have you tried to ontain information from the factory you worked at? You may try and gather as much information as you can from there about that contractor. Then report this to the factory's manager about this. I am sure there will be some remedial steps you can take from there onwards.

do you still have that articles where it says the company name? do you know the company name and stuff? maybe u can try to lodge a complaint with MOM though

After much effort, I manage to find out the company which the contractor is working for.
I called the company to look for that irresponsible contractor and realised he quitted his job.
Thus the company had to sent another guy down to send my pay.
End of story.
