i guess this topic fits here since ive been in agony for monthes.
i'm going through hell deciding between taking a business degree or an engineering degree. my parents want me to study engineering but i dont find their arguments strong enough. someone... persuade me to take up engineering... ![]()
Aiglosicicle,
You need to go where your hearts go , and where your best abilities lies.
Have you looked into the subjects you will be studying in both degrees ?
Go to the library and flip through some of the text books on the subjects you will be studying in.
Pick the one you know you can excel in.
heh ive actually done pretty extensive research but am unable to come to a decision. lets just say my heart is torn between both choices LOL

except the opposite…............ive applied colleges and wrote on the application that i want to study engineering but lately ive been thinking…..........maybe business is better and easier….......so hard to decide like u….....................
Why do you conclude business is easier ?
With an engineering degree..it's easier to pick up business studies later.
But if you choose to go with business.. it will be limited options if you want to dabble in engineerings later.
How many doors do you want to open ?
If you STILL cannot make up your mind.
Then toss a coin lor.
Heads... engineering
Tails.....business.
Simple right ?..![]()
You are in agony on what to study.
Have you seriously considered what you want to be?
There are lawyers who eventually became theatre performers. Doctors who became writers.
Engineering degree opens up a lot of career field for you.
If you're keen in Finance, the industry does take Engineering grads too.
engineers can cross over to the biz sector, but the same cant be said for biz to engine.

i think study what also ok best if you got the passion in your studies and you will do very well i suppose.
go with your feeling even art, music etc.do what you love love what you do.
Local engineering degree? It isn't a easy course to score first class. You must have dedicated passion or kaisu mentality to scrape well. If you are going to engineering course, please do well, then your future will be bright bright.
People can give you the advices that they think it's good for you but you are ultimately responsible for your own choice and the kind of life you will be heading on for a long time.
depends where ur interest lies.
i believe interest alone is not enough to justify a career choice. yes it is highly important but more most occasions we must be practical.
follow ur heart, its ur future, not ur parents
eng has more job prospects than biz..also more job security
My father is running an engineering company.
And he always tells me singapore has no future in engineering . ![]()
