How to prevent one party for expecting more? -
difficult but it's possible....
bery often, one party cannot resist and will breach the rship....
u can't prevent it from coming....but when it comes, both mus know how to handle...cos after the "confession", things will neber be the same again......the frenship might eben drift apart.... -

Guys get emotional with Gals (the normal case
)
Example: Guys tok abt Women...Games....Sports.....Food.....blahx3.....hardly emotional stuffs
When they meet Gals, they tend to open up themselves...thus, PLATONIC FRIENDSHIP may seem quite impossible to them 
On the other hand, Gals r more communicative in terms of emotional issues. We tend to see Guys' participation in emotional stuffs as sharings BUT Guys may find any Gals who can click with them to be Potentials
So, Gals may seem more approval of PLATONIC FRIENDSHIP

People are easily misled - such level of communication will often spark interest because most people doesn't have specific enough target in their life. With zero kind of requirement they are looking for - anyone would fill the bill - decent looking, decent character, etc. Everyone only need to feel comfortable with each other, overflowing emotions, someone made the move, both agreed, a relation formed
Ask what are the physical and characteristic you are LOOKING for in a person - nearly 70% will tell you either don't know or anything is general.

'I want a caring guy'
'Yeah I know you looking for a guy that is caring, about 0.2 millions brother Joes in SG fits the role. Take your pick.'
People dunno what they want... so they are the ones who cannot differentiate platonic friendship from a potential - because anyone *SEEMED* to fit the bill. People end up going through series of relations, each relation gone and they learned. With time, people will finally find and settle with this one person - from fallen dreams, reality, lesson learned, etc - the partner that would walk down the path of life with you. -

How to prevent...? Different people different ways of handling it... How to tell you....?
A good start would be that both parties believe in Platonic Friendship and understand that it could stand....
You'll have better luck with not so 'forceful' people too....
If there's a party who announce that he don't believe in platonic friendship and is kinda HOT on your track... You SHOULD more or less know what's coming for you...? -
How would the platonic friend behave to the other party?? What type of concern will be shown in the friendship so as not to mislead the other party into having the thoughts that there is some sparks in the friendship?

how to have a platonic friendship? have no interest in the other party lor.. since pri sch i had female friends .. as good friends.. never had any interest in them..
well.. when i was in sec sch.. wasn't interested.. but my friends kept physco me to go after my good friend ( quite pretty one ) .. in the end buay tahan.. can't see her as gf..
anyway my sister also got good friend who's male.. also very platonic r/s one.. think you jus have to know lor.. its like.. if you draw the line.. and really have no interest.. can alreayd lor.. jus make sure dun flirt with each other can liao..
oh yeah.. if ur arleady attached and belive in 1-hearted.. i belive platonic r/s is definately possible -

i've fallen for my best friend, who is of cos a ger, confessed to her but eventutually it brought our level of friendship closer as we understood each other better.
till now, we are still very close to each other, but we aren't a couple.
cos there was some cooling off time in between as we talked things out and felt the friendship still weight more then anything. -

And back to the topic it is in the tendency of guys to go about searching for ideal mates(sorry about the crudness in my sayying)We Humans are defined as 'animals'.
From our animal friends,do you see females going about searching for mates?No, its their male counterparts because of guys' instinct to do so therefore it can be quite difficult for guys to have plaatonic fs.
However i have a few guy friends with Platonic friendships though so it isnt impossible ,just difficult.
Because of a point stated by one of fo the fellow chatters guys ont talk abnout emotional self within a guy group therefore it is natural for guys to 'find some1 as their potential mates' cause o fthe 'searching point about the instinct part ' and the almost never protion iof guys having felt a new 'closeness' to a girl b'cause of the dicussion of his emotional pasrt ' -

anyway, juz to say, we do share in some ways another kinda love for each other, knowing that we can depend on each other.
i dun really treat her like a guy, i told her she nearly has all the previllages of a gf, but somehow not a couple. so we are juz happy being that way. -

Used to have one and we confided in each other last time. Quite long ago already man. But, I started to avoid her when I knew that something was wrong, in me of course. Some feelings grew after a period of time.
Told her about it after given much thoughts and I anticipated her answer. From then on, the friendship kind of faded. Till now, she will always still say 'Hi', but I just can't talk to her like how we did in the past.
Guess there is this 'something' in me yar... shrugs.
