i feel sad for your case. but there isn't much anyone can do.
this is business. i can get a younger and cheaper worker y keep the old and costly one ?
some times this is about business eithcs too.
Originally posted by EarlNeo:FT come is ok, but gov must put in a gd ratio of FT to local work force. Beside, when i was in uk, there is law to regulate influx of FT. Employer must explain why they get FT, it must either b for labour work or only when they cant find local to fill up that position. Unlike here in sg.... even my company is fill with 50% of FT. Some of this FT really cant make it.
we're not importing FTs now ... they are not foreign talents .... they are foreign peasants (FPs) .... ![]()
If this can happen to your mum, this can happen to you too.
Whatever skill set and knowledge you have, I can get a FT or FP to replace you with at least half the price.
Don't blame me, I need to cut my costs down cuz competition too high, and I'm kena double taxed by Government.
Also, my customer always pressure me to cut my operation cost by squeezing my profits, so easiest and fastest way, is to reduce manpower costs.
Sorry, welcome to Singapore.
we are all living in a fallen world, especially living in country like Singapore.
No sense of security and belonging nowadays.
Look at the benefits that a foreign student can get, free lodging and a monthly allowance. Needless to say, they do not have to pay for their tuition fees. When they graduate, all they must do is to work in Singapore for six years as part of their 'payback'' bond.
Our local system is all messed up, look at those incident that had happened recently. Cases like NKF, what happened to T T Durai now? Did he get any punishment or sentence to jail?
Escape of Mas Selmat? How this incident could have taken place in a country which prides itself on safety and security?
When will Singapore ever have a chance to get a president like Taiwan's Ma Ying-jeou?
