i notice a number of posts involve couples with a few years of relationship. e.g. 2yr-5yr? i mean, why do problems only crop up so many years down the road? personally, im having a relationship dilema. i always tell myself that since we have been together for 2 years, there must have been some love, something special to keep us together for so long. are long relationships a sign of true & everlasting love? or does it mean nothing to u?

What makes you think they are not signs of true and everlasting love?

Long relationships means that you understand each other better, know each other's weakness more, and acceptance of that weakness.
Even if it's 2 years, it's still possible for problems to crop up. Every quarrel, every topic that you talk about, reveals something bout yourself.
After every quarrel, you learn something new bout the both the other person. Once that problem is resolved, you'll learn to accept that particular weakness that caused the argument to start and continue with the relationship.
But, if that problem continues for a long time, it just tires the two of you out. One fine day, you'll both be not able to take it anymore. Then comes breakup.

the longer u r together, the more u noe of each other.
then maintaining the relationship is harder, cos lack of communication. -
well to maintain a relationship depends on how marture u are
i know some friends try hard to maintian a relationship even though she doesnt know if she really love that guy
she still in a relationshipwith that guy just because its already 2 , 3 years

Yeah, some relationships are hinged on lust factors. It looks swimmingly fine at first but time would break down its 'compound' to show its purest intentions: is this relationship based on mutual respect and love or for skin-deep thrills like lust?

or more likely .... if a relationship lasts for too long without getting anywhere ....
it's a sign that one or both partners are just sticking around and hanging onto the other while waiting for someone better to come along ...
