You think your parents gave birth to you so that you don't recognise when people are being sarcastic or condescending?
My dear, for someone who keep claiming good english... your english is pretty standard Singaporean english. I've been patient with you, so please, don't come and step on my toes and I won't step on yours.
And yes im hijacking this thread and making it into the new chatbox. So sue me.

You are always welcome to step on mine, I'm not like you. I don't mind if people are offending to me without a valid reason.
It's an upbringing issue which is commonly found among present Singaporeans.
I don't have this fear in me, be it losing out in an argument, getting flamed, insulted. All these doesn't affect me in anyway, that is because I can only be hurt when I allowed someone to hurt me.
Too bad you're not good enough to do so, and will never be able to.
Maybe you all need additional time realised I meant what I've said. ![]()
Bottomline is, whatever you do in your life, your current behaviour doesn't makes you a better person. ![]()

Neither does your current behaviour make you a better person. For someone claiming to have good english, your tenses and grammer need work. Maybe you'd also like to try not acting so incredibly arrogant. And guess what? My goal here is not to hurt you. I only hurt people who actually are worth hurting. You're dismissed. Now shoo.

You can't hurt me anyway. ![]()
Or...I should say, I can't be hurted. ![]()
Anyway, you all seems very threatened by my presence. This makes me happy. ![]()
Actually if you're not hurt, then you wouldn't keep repeating "you can't hurt me". ^^
That lets me know how much it hurts you. As for your presence, it is no threat, just... mere amusement.
LOL...Ok lah...let you win. ![]()
No no do go on my dear. Your pain amuses me so ^^
Oh dearie me. Throwing tantrums now, are we?
You don’t have to have firsthand knowledge of completing a PhD to know that it takes more than just knowledge. Pick up any university guide or visit any university website and you can clearly see that they invariably state that successful completion of the PhD requires knowledge and analysis. It doesn’t get any simpler than that.
Hang on. You can read, can’t you?
Stomping your feet and saying “I know I’m right” isn’t going to get you anywhere. You’ve got no answer to the facts that have been sitting there for ages for anybody to see, showing that it’s not “just knowledge” required, so frankly, in light of the facts, insisting that you know you’re right does come off as being pretty sad. Judging by this morning's activity, your backup plan of "ask other people so they can prove my point for me" seems to have run into a brick wall as well.
While you’ve failed to address why it takes “just knowledge” to complete a PhD, you’ve gone on tangents about:
- requiring “a good english” (whatever that may be) to understand the vague point that you clearly cannot articulate
- your definition of smart
- funding and time needed for PhDs
- the kind of people you like
none of which are pertinent to the issue at hand, amusing though they may be.
By chasing red herrings, you’ve only served to demonstrate how you easily can shoot yourself in the foot, your glaring misconceptions about the Internet and stock market being prime examples. The more you go off-track, the more things you manage to drag out and proceed to trip over.
Also by chasing red herrings, you’ve demonstrated a knack for outmaneuvering yourself while seemingly rooted to the spot. You say that “anybody” can do a PhD, so doesn’t your lack of a PhD make you a nobody? Before you start bellyaching about how negative I am, I’ll remind you that I’m not the one calling you a nobody – you’ve managed to do that all by yourself.
There’s nothing wrong with retracting your point – it was indefensible in the first place and the most merciful thing to do with it is take it out the back and put it down. Stomping about and declaring your job done, on the other hand, hovers somewhere between laughable and pathetic. I’ll be charitable and laugh, so don’t go saying I’m not a nice guy, now.
you're too fucking nice. Was expecting a fairbairn-sykes between the 3rd and the 4th, mate.
thus spake a real PhD .... ![]()

Nah, that'd be a mercy killing. Besides, I've got the FS nicely cleaned and I couldn't be arsed about having to do it all over again.

State your point and move on, you don't need to convince me and you're not good enough to do so anyway. I do realised that I'm super important to all of you that I should be tamed/convinced somehow. But you all should also know your own limitations, it's best not to try to do something beyond your abilities. ![]()
Some people should just accept the facts/opinions of others.
It's so true that SG Guys are not MEN, they can't tolerate other people's opinions and kind criticism. They also can't accept losing/failure in their lives. And this is why it's only a matter of them before they are brought to their knees.
What will this kind of people behaved if they were to lose/fail in their real lives?
Kill themselves?.....I do not pity them. ![]()

Perhaps she's referring to Permanent Head Damage patients.
Or Pizza Hut Deliverymen.
