MNC vs Govt Sector

  Continue working in a local MNC company as assistant engineer or take up an offer in goverment sector? Below are the pros and cons:
  
  MNC company:
  Office hours
  1) 5 days
  2) Pay still O.k.
  3) But recently company wanted to cut cost as annual target wasn't hit
  4) Don't know got bonus
  5) Office alot of policy
  6) Not much work to do, work for about 5 months already
  7) If stay planning to further study next year
  
  Goverment sector:
  1) Working hours irregular
  2) 7 months residential training
  3) Pay about the same as current job
  4) Confirm got bonus
  5) Stable job
  6) Can consider quite dangerous
  7) Interview and medical check up already, now is just whether i want to accept or not
  8) If take up confirm no time to further study
  
  Please give me some advice? Thanks.

  simplest question is"do you still wana study?"

  no point looking at the other conditions.

  Gahment jobs do have sabbatical.

  If you choose gahment jobs, save enough money and study full time eventually also can.

  Mr Cheng,

  Current situation.. Gov job is more desirable..

  you can still consider switch job when the economy more stable..

  O.k. Thanks. I got what you mean. I believe if i really decide to sign, i will not leave because if i do so that mean (pay cut and i will need to start off as fresh grad again).

  What you mean start off as fresh grad again ?

  Your work experience in the gov dept. will count on your resume ok ?

  I agree with 1 of your points.. there's nth much for you do in an MNC during the 1st few mths.. Previously..I was with this Electronic MNC & have got nth on hand @ all for a few mths.. Currently, I am with this new MNC..2nd mth here & I am so much time on hand that I can login to sgforum..hahas.. But, 1 plus pt abt MNC is that I can leave on the dot for my part time studies in the evening..

  That depens.. if he leaves the company and jump into another company in the SAME/RELATED industry.. then yes.. his hands on experience and accumulated work experience counts.

  If he goes into a different industry.. then he probably has to start from entry level.. but he will have accumulated working experience to show.

  If the private company requires regulatory comms then having some experience in the same field at a gov body IS actually beneficial for him.
