Hello people, I know I want to have a Major in Business, but there's so many, like marketing financing, management and administration. How do I know which one's best for me and how do I know what to choose?
wahhhh.. so fast ord n going uni liao..
time flies.....
Yeah man, haha, what's been up?
anyway I'd like to know, what does a degree in business administration really mean, does that mean I can branch out to marketing, financing etc? Or am I stuck with admin. What is business admin all about
ask urself first lah
where ur interest lies?
I really have no idea, but I would think it's marketing. Can someone with an administration background branch into that area? or it's a totally different degree itself.
coffeeortea,
Instead of doing inside out.. you do outside in approach.
First.. you go look at the job you want. Meaning your final destination.
Do you want to be a marketing director ?
Do you want to be a financial controller ?
Do you want to be global operation executive officer ?
Do you want to be HR director ?
etc etc.
You go and look at the academic requirements for those kind of post. Your academic background is only a tool for you to get where you want to go.
For you to excel.. you must be interested in those courses you choose.
So take a look at the curriculum of the various subjects for each course.
Compare them and figure out which one you are strong or weak at.
Pick the one you think you have the highest confidence to do well.
Go down to the library and look at the course books. Have an idea what the course will be teaching.
Once you have all the information , you can make an educated decision.
Please don't expect the forumers here to spoon feed you all the details, you need to be more resourceful than this to make it through uni, ESPECIALLY business related course.
Good luck.

Easiest way is to go ask your seniors and profs.
