Okay, so I just received my O level results yesterday. I wish the people who received theirs good luck in their courses.
Anyways. My problem is that I did well unexpectedly. Not that I'm complaining. I managed to qualify for a jc with 17 points. I'm an Art student in Sec school and want to continue to go on as an Art student. Everything seems fine so far. Then I read the JAE booklet. The JCs nearest to my area(Jurong east, near toh guan) do not offer art courses.
I'd either have to go to Serangoon or Yishun JC for my H2 art which is far and I have no proper means of getting there without changing from bus to MRT to bus or whatever. So I will find diffuculty travelling. Should I give up my pursuits to take up art and go for a more science orientated stream instead?
Please help me on this. Thanks :D
Must definitely go JC?
err, this is my advise to u
singapore is a small country
it doesn't really matter whether at woodlands tampines clementi or what so ever.
u already said ur interest is art
are u going to give up art just because the school that offer art is far? think about it carefully.
there are ppl i know who stay in the west but wake up every morning to go to school in the east.
seriously, this is a simple problem. just go to a far school and enjoy ur lessons.
COME TO TEMASEK DESIGN

I love my school mah
If the travelling time is enough to put u off, it just shows that u do not dare to pursue ur passion and ur goals will not materalise.
I have frens that stay in the east. They spend 1hr+ everyday to reach the school. And i also have this fren who stays in Msia. He wakes up at 5 every day so that he can reach school on time. He never once complained about it becuz he enjoys the education in sg. FYI he is the top student in my class. With 10 A1s.
I stay in Hougang, but I still go to RJ when it was in Ghim Moh, all the way near Buona Vista MRT.... travelling like 1.5 hours per trip...

I'm looking more into art as career in teaching or something without having to go to NAFA or Laselle. Poly got lower chance to go uni, so I decided against it.

Lower chance doesn't mean no chance- this phrase is soooo familiar, kekekeke.
Why don't u want to stand high in poly?

And what teaching courses in poly are there might I ask. Besides, I haven't set my mind to anything much other than my future career would be related to art. So isn't it better to just take a general art and find out later where I want to go?

So true(Abt NP) :D
Too bad I not interested in Polys
if i am not wrong, a degree from nafa would give you a teaching job from MOE.
you might also wanna try design or art management. imagine opening your own art gallery or starting your art collective.
or, alternatively, you can jump headfirst into the world of design and advertising.
Join SP design school! Its in the west!
TEMASEK DESIGN FTW
nafa has degree in art education which is under moe.
somedays you will study at the nafa campus, somedays you will study at the ntu campus.
but very hard to get in, they see not only your mars, but have to sit through tests.
if i am not wrong, moe will provide you some allowance, and pay for your school fees.
