Huhu.. i'm a colour blind and poly courses had been making me confused to choose this course or not. I scored L1R4 14 and interested in Marine Offshore Engineering from NP. This course only allows those who are not suffering severe vision deficiency. And there is an in-house test if selected to the course. If i were to fail that test it means i had to go to other course. I had also called them to ask if i can take the in-house test first before deciding the course, they said that it cannot be done until course is selected. I think that NP should approve this method as it boosts confidence of choosing that course as a first choice. For now, if i were to put that course as my first choice, when all the other students happy for their first choice being choosen, mine is still hanging on a string...And i really want to choose my first choice properly because if i were to get my first choice and if that course have scholarships, there will be more chance of me getting it rather than those who choosed the course as second choice...
I also don't have interest in going MI..
So.. what is meant by severe? Is red & green considered one?
yes..
if you cannot see colours, you are automatically ruled out of a lot of engineering courses and lots of others... because of colour-coding, those who are colour-blind may be putting themselves and others' safety at risk..
imagine if you connect a live wire to the earth pin... things like that...
so, it is serious..
Dude, you don't need to depend on that in-house test to know if you fall under the severe vision deficiency group.
Just go to an ophthalmologist to get your eye checked and certified.
Just called an eye clinic.. just for consultation cost $60.. anywhere cheaper at the west?
