What do girls like to talk about in general?

i've been facing this problem for quite some time now. whenever i'm around with girls, i usually keep quiet cause i dont know what to say to them. What do girls like to talk about in general? Please dont give me crap answers like Sex etc, thank you.
i'm definitely not an unapproachable and act cool type of guy. I smile whenever i can, i laugh at jokes out loud even when i might be the only one around who find them to be funny. i'm a happy go lucky type of guy. I'm approachable but sometimes just dont take enough initiatives to talk, only to girls. I have no problems clicking with new guy friends but currently facing problems with girls. I can say hello, hi to them, but thats the farthest i can go. Have been in awkward situations where it seems like the girls were just waiting for me to speak up, but i really have no clue what to talk about with them so it might appear to them that im either just ignoring them or not interested to talk, i'm quite an emo guy so i actually care about how they feel.
i've came across this quote somewhere in the buddhist forum section which i found to be very insightful: Sometimes one creates a dynamic impression by saying something, and sometimes one creates as significant an impression by remaining silent. So usually i dont actually speak much unless im with my closer friends. Any sincere advices would be appreciated much, thanks.

Can talk means can talk.
Cannot talk means cannot talk.
It's not like people walk around with an agenda written on the palm of their hands.

charlize i also know i cannot talk -_- but im trying to change for the better. u can ask me to just be myself and remain keeping quiet and not talk whenever im with girls but that doesnt change the fact that im still unable to talk with girls.
i also kinda figured out that different girls likes to talk about different stuffs. thx red, shopping and fashion unfortunately are not my cup of tea. Guys, Money,Office work/sch problems Ok. err PMS..? no clue. Sex... i think thats too personal even if im really close to a girl.

In my opinion, if u can click, u can click.
It doesnt matter what topic.
If she is into football, and u happen to like it, click!
If she is into food, and u are too, click!
If she is into travelling, u are not, no click!
Dont force yourself to find a topic in common, that will make your life shag believe me.

Yeah. But if i can make a few more friends, shag also worth it. Btw I find that i click easier with girls that takes the initiative to talk to me, haha, maybe im just too shy around girls..

Gals like to talk, It's great if u are the type lazy exercise yr mouth.
U just need to ask the correct question to make them continue talking non stop!
What's bothering u? I will only frek if I met a gal who don't likes to talk even I pop her questions.

Like what Canny says, let the girl talk all she wants.
After every 100 words, the guy just needs to go, "Really?" or "Yep" or " Oh, I see "
A nod once in a while is also preferred.

You just need to be diligent and do your homework.

im not lazy just duno what to talk about. later i say something random that freaked her out how lolol. Correct question like buy 4D and ToTo lol, dunno when will strike.
That means shes either not into u or needs more time to warm up to new ppl.

Only when im making new gal friends, i have no problems with girls that im already "ripe" with lol.
