Hi...I am so stressed...please help to give me some advice..
I was recently been offered a job which will offer me a promising and rewarding career prospect in few years' down the road. This happens when I was about to engage to my part time degree programme and I was offered a place already.. *shrugs* I hope I can work and study at the same time but the co. rejected it due to its demanding job scope.
Because of this, they hope I can defer my studies. They mention that they have good opportunities for me to upgrade myself if I can perform well in my role. I have been regretting it since I finish my poly. But finally I have the financial support and a chance to study now. I feel that I always kept saying wanted to study wanted to study but always find it difficult to even start. It has been many years already but I still look back since then. Feeling that I did not achieve much in terms of career wise...and always cause alot of limitations when I am applying for a job. I have been hanging there and not doing a job that can make full use of my diploma.. But now I met someone who may seem to give me lots of opportunity now, but I need to give up the idea about studying.
What should I do now?
The job you were offered must be some kind of financial planning type job. ![]()

Times are bad now, it is good to have a job.
But what job will definitely offer you a rewarding career in this recession? I am interested in knowing that.
And how well do they want you to perform, or more directly, what they want you to do?
I hope you are not being sweet-talked into a crap company, and later find that the company is going under.
Okay, back to topic, since you are doing part-time degree, odds are you will still be able to get in again few years down the road, so no worries there.
The main question is do you really want to study? Do you really need that degree?
If your answer is no to both questions, then you are free to take up the job.
Unless you are really convinced about the job prospects of this specific job, I would recommend that you take up the studies.
Some things are harder to do as you get older. One of these is getting degrees.
go for the job i would say... part time degree course can be taken anytime... just go for the job first... if its really like what ya say... Good Prospects... then in a few years time, you might not even need to go for the part time degree course...
Cheers

can u state the job?
then we can properly advice you.
right now. i suggest getting a degree first.
degree is a paper that allow you to find a good career
but if you already got a career why do you need a degree?
good opportunities is extremely hard to find. Might never get another chance again.
You can always take up a part time degree in the future...
Besides, I have friends who are never a degree holder, yet they end up fairing better than me. so yah .

True, but she is taking part-time degree.
Most important thing now is for us to know what job is she talking about.
I wanted both actually. A job and a part time opportunitiy to get my degree. I am not looking into ambitious future but at lest open more doors for opportunities dats all I am looking for. I know that not everyone needs a degree but some of them are just plainly lucky... it really gets out of my way to apply jobs with a science diploma.
Actually my new job offer requires me to work shift and it may sound very hectic for me in the beginning stage which I can understand due to the learning process. Initially they check with me if I can defer but now they want me to totally drop the idea and mention about compensation etc. And to my surprise I just went for my school's orientation...and theres a classmate working that position with that company.. I am just thinking why did she want me to drop the idea of studying when someone in that company with that particular position can study? I just dont get it. And she ask if I am willing to defer the plan like 1-2 yrs
I feel that I practically can contribute to them. But this world is just unfair. You cannot have both. It really sux..

You answered your own question. The world is unfair alright.
Take up the job ba, now the economy is in recession, a lot of full-time degrees graduates come out to find themselves jobless.
Part-time degree you can take when you find yourself in a 'better' position in the company.
