how many gf/bf's do you have before the current one ?
i've got a few, but i will never compare my current one with my ex's when i'm with her. least of all, tell the current gf that she is not 'the one', and that 'the one' is actually the ex.
to me, no matter how fantastic the ex's are, they belong in the past. unless you harbour thoughts of getting back with the ex, which may then be deemed as 'unfaithful' to the current. if i decide to be with the current girl, she is 'the one'. it's basic respect. no one likes to be treated as a mistress or concubine.
on the other hand, if your gf/bf treats you like a second best after the ex, will you be able to accept ? do you like second class treatment ?
it's not about love or unconditional love, for that matter. it's basic human nature to want to be loved and respected, to feel that you are the special one to another person. that's the motivation to be in a relationship.
