Hi My bank practise salary cap ie if you are an officer, they pay you the range 2k to 3k. Once you reach 3k and not promoted to next level, you will not get increment and will get 3k every month. I am in this situation for few years already. Is this a fair and common practice ? Pls advise. Thanks
Hi denki,
I do not know.
Cheers.

Hi denki,
It is a legal and common practice to have a Salary Ceiling, and one of the reasons is to prevent people of a lower position in a company from earning more than those in higher positions.
Is there any reasons why you are not being promoted? Perhaps you will like to find out more about that and see if you can do anything about it.
Cheers.

Change your job if your company doesn't appreciate your value as an employee.
Change your job if the company is not paying you enough to survive as a human.

It is a common practice. Most people will hit the salary cap in 5 years time. That why you need to upgrade yourself so that you can get promoted.
It is a fact that your qualification or skills does not improved, even if you switch company but having the same position, your salary would not change.
