Hey I know this is a really boring subject but I gotta ask anyway.
Im from a prestigious secondary school and my grades are constantly good. Im aiming for a scholarship for university. (cause that would save me big bucks) but im really really worried that my cca records would pull me down.
I checked on a few sites. They said that a good cca record is required for this scholarship x, scholarship y etc. But what EXACTLY is a good cca record? I don't skip it often just about 1 month but I had a valid reason for that. Im from a uniform group zzz (not that I had a choice though, all the good ccas were snatched up by those who got in by dsa zzz) and I seriously dislike it. Especially my batchmates, they are SERIOSLY bossy and I can't stand their attitude. They are so passionate about staying back for 2 or 3 hours twice a week to march under the hot sun and look at the black faces of our senior -_- I personally can't stand that. so i will most likely be getting the lowest rank in year 4 and probably get a remark that is not as good as those that were passionate about their cca.
BUT NO MATTER HOW HARD I TRY I JUST CANT DO THAT! and i will be doomed if i don't get a scholarship just cause of this component. All my good grades would be wasted.
So basically the main question is would getting a low rank in ug affect my cca records? Would it will be considered as good or possibly even very good cca record if I don't skip cca practises?
lol and I cant reveal the name of my school or I will probably be sliced and the school will be bombarded with questions.
Refers to "A" grade in your CCA records
Good CCA records:
1) leadership appointments in your CCA/ Class etc
2) Performance in your CCA. e.g. Did you win any competitions, receive any awards etc
3) academic-related acheivements. e.g. olympiads medalist.
4) CIP. quality of CIP also counts. are you just a member, or do you played any role in organising the CIP activity.
All these counts towards your portfolio and are reflected in your testimonials. The scholarship selection committee takes your school's graduation testimonial seriously when considering you for scholarship.
Regular Volunteer work at the Old Folks Home or Charities. Then you can ask them to write letter for you. :) Must be regular ar....
