I had return to SG this year and had landed a job.
So facts to remember....
1) Degree get you the door thereafter its your exposure
2) Experience get you the job but does not reflect your abilities to command salary. jobs become price point negociation.

And since coming back I have only been called up for interviews like 3times.
The problem doesnt lie with you or me, Its lie with our Fark up goverment who are working for the corporations instead for its citizens, The more Cheap labour they bring in, the more fuck up we become.
A businessman is almost always greedy, all he believes in is making Money money money!! And since the goverment allows almost any tom dick or harry to come here and earn 1k for a supervisor post, he will get hired b4 you or me do!
what are your job search strategy?
Have you established distribution channel for your Resume?
Have you established linked network?
Have you go direct company job site to apply?
How many job board have you approach?
I think there are indeed some jobs / job functions which need looks.....
But I am not saying this to discriminate against you.....
Those jobs discriminate against everyone.
So for example, if I apply for certain jobs, I would also be judged, and maybe my rejection will be based on how skinny I am, for example.
So, what I am saying is......
Maybe some front-line positions indeed is unsuitable for you (but dont be sensitive about this because many other people are also similarly unsuitable), so maybe seek others like mid-office or back-office jobs......
Good luck.
go setup yer own manufacturing company.if u know the materials n how to get them cheaply then u can make world acclaim stuff without much cost involved.

Yeah, degree is a passport for interview.
to those who are unemployed
stop whining and go get a job
i only have diploma, no degree but i earn more than 5k/mth and my company still have 5 similar positions available at the same pay since May
I admit the job is hard, i need to work 18 hours a day, 6 days a week.
All the poeple who tried out the job quit within 1 month (even got 1 person quit less than 5 hours into the job)
so quit whining about long hours, no life, got family commitment

I can only say....your organization is full of shit .......
First of all .....if your company willing to pay $5K a month salary but continue to demonstrate the lack of ability to make sound decision to hire the right candidates.
something is wrong with your company not folks who are looking for jobs.
against labor law. one day 18 hrs 6 day wk. count know already. anyway i don;t need and don;t wnat a 5k job. i need time to unwhine and enjoy life besides work also. company also need to know to let workers rest. some companies even rest day also want employers to go for their so called orgganised function and event. i point middle finger at thema nd tell them 'look into my eye'.
A balance working life make one's life healthier...than stuck with more than 16 hrs of work per day.
really sit there do nothing waiting for thing to happen 16 hrs you call that a job?
i rather have a regualr hours job and only need to put in extra time when the situation warrants.
