I think if she were to consult a specialist, laser surgery isn't so necessary. Sometimes to curb acne problems, the specialist will give AHA treatment. But then it depends on the condition the skin is in. AHA-treated skin cannot be exposed to the sun too much. Each time you visit the specialist and get medicine, it's about $200.Originally posted by chaar123:If you got a lot of $$$ go specialist and ask them to use laser surgery on you...
if you got moderate $$$... go to doctor get ANTIBIOTICS and cream for face...
I tried the Skin Centre's treatment, exactly the same one as yours. But the antibiotics caused me nausea and it was very difficult to carry on with lessons in the morning. And I found that while the acne problem was controlled during the course of taking the medicine, it came back again after I stopped.Originally posted by NeonTetra:Seek specialist help from National Skin Centre (appt booking : 63506666) and the doctors there will give u a thorough review. No doubt the fees are quite high around 50 bucks per consultation excluding prescription but its worth a try. Normally for acne problems the doctor will give you a short course of doxycycline to kill the acne causing bacteria (propionbacteriacea) and some facial wash depending on your skin condition and finally some topical cream to apply....the most effective lotion so far is the Dalacin T topical gel which is antiobiotic in nature and will add on to the killing of bacteria.....with the above your face should clear up in a week's time but daily care is needed to prevent future outbreaks....dont touch your face with your dirty hands and wash face twice daily and use oil blotter in between washes to remove excess oil.......washing your face too often will reverse the intended effect.
advice fr a guy...can u believe it?
Alright. Perhaps I should try consulting them again. I must admit I wasn't exactly very faithful in eating those antibiotics. I hate capsules.Originally posted by NeonTetra:cheekycow: maybe u didnt follow the instruction eating the pills before food as some antibiotics cannot be taken empty stomach and they act on your stomach walls rather than on the bacteria. If problems persist u can tell that to your consultant and see if he can prescribe another alkaline drug such as magnesium to counter the nauseating problem. the antibiotics is intended to eliminate the microbes at much faster rate to relieve your agony but prpoer skincare is still needed to manitain that....u cant possibly be relying on the drug all the time as it has some side effects too
