how 2 keep a relationships alive for decades?

i have past relationships turned out boring and full of conflicts after few months or a year of courtship. any solution? i'm sick of breaking and patching thingy, juz wanna settle down and make my new relationship a long run..

Hi... A love relationship is not really just about those techniques and rules which make them last.... It's just what the both of you do which makes it MEANINGFUL.... Personally, I find that with a relationship which runs on and on but without much meaning probably defy its purpose too...? 2 people living apart in 2 distant countries... A married couple which keeps an open mind about it... Both very busy with their own life... They don't fly over to visit each other... Not even phone calls or e-mails... Nothing... Perhaps just an e-mail every few months...? They acknowledge the existence of the relationship, and the relationship went on for decades... Some time after the man died... The wife didn't even cry.... Well... That's a relationship for decades...?
MEANING... Something which you CREATE... If you don't have to be around to CREATE it.... Then you're probably REDUNDANT in the picture....? -
Having a relationship is just the start...both sides have to work at it....and i mean BOTH sides....its a struggle to keep a relationship interesting...but the rewards are great. On some days, the newspapers contain articles abt this or that couple can be together for umpteen years and find their relationship still going strong (more likely in the New Paper). U just got to keep working at it..

well, it's easily said than done
i have been telling myself to do it since years ago and i tried but it just didnt work out... haiz* 
it's hard for me to love someone for long and i dun know why... maybe it's genetic? my father is a " hua1 xin1 carrot" and i think i carry his traits. i just dun wan to be blind and lose another mr right -
that is something i would definitely like to know.
I think maybe it's just that being together is so wonderful that you dont really notice the years fly by. -

...well this is not a 100% solution..but at least.. it does help prolong the relationship abit... appreciate ur other 1/2 for inner qualities rather den outer qualities which u'll get tired of sooner or later... confide in each other when ever there is problem..instead of keeping it or fearing tt ur other 1/2 will worry for u..
sometimes tokking it out helps in clearing misunderstands too... gives ur other 1/2 little surprises occasionally to show him/her that u still care and both of u are still as loving as before... -

Genes usually don't work by ABSOLUTEs but more like PROBABILITY.... Unless it's in some cases of cross-spring where both parents carry the genetic factors of some combination for some disease in such a way that it's offspring is an ABSOLUTE carrier... ANYWAYs, don't blame things on GENEs... Genes don't THINK? But you CERTAINLY DO...? i'm not blaming on my genes that were passed on from my family, but i do believe DNA.. although everyone in the family are unique but i do believe that they are identical in some ways -
