bf's responsibility?

is it the bf's responsibility to please his gf, giving her surprises etc...? i am always thinking of ways to surprise my gf and always trying to please her, but she always seem to juz take it as it comes... never seem to reciprocate... its not like i want something in return, but i feel like i'm taken for granted... i thought it takes 2 to clap.. haiz...

Its not a responsiblity - its when you desire and want to do it for her because you want to make her happy.
In classroom context years ago - would you ever pick the broom and sweep the class even if its isn't your duty? I do, back in secondary school days. Do I expect my teacher to reward me, etc? Nah... rather I just felt like doing it.
Taken for granted is serious because the duties boys for that day cannot expect me to take over their duty every time.
So what I do?
I went to them and we have a good talk. Its takes two to clap, isn't it? Enlight her indirectly.
When is the last time when the both of you had a heart-to-heart chat with one another? Probably another one should be coming up soon.

i totally agree.... when u keep trying to please.. and one day when ur mood is nt good or wat... she will then pick a quarral with u cos..... u dun seem to please her that time... sometimes we guys also tired one..... esp if the gal shows sour attitude... sian... i and my gf also like that... then when i passed my driving test a few days ago... seh seemed to show attitude i dunno why lah.... then dampen my spirits.. sian.... i learnt driving for 1 yr b4 passing for me... even when she nt happy.. she cannot for this once suit me ?? NO... she cant.. so... we nt on talking terms liaoz...

Having regularly heart to heart talks are very important...and bear in mind that it's NEVER a responsibility but rather an act of love when you go all the way out to do something for your loved ones...and if your better half does not respond to your hint...then maybe it's time to reassess your relationship...
I've been down that road.. I know exactly what you are going thru.. so do something before it's too late... that is when your heart is weary....

my gf does sweet things like spending an afternoon making moon cakes and then dropping by my work place to bring it to me.
or making porridge for me if i'm sick and coming over to take care of me. -
I wouldnt say it as a responsibility, i would say it as a binus if u now how to.
