Hi! We would be organising a 'GATHERING' for members of Aunt Agony & even sgforums to come together to collection fund and sell flags!
The event would fall on 8th Nov. 2003. And the fund would go to kdf. It is an independent organisation which is not affiliated to any other kidney organisation in Singapore. From what is known, this organisation is in quite a 'pathetic' state but still strongly believes in running at a low cost for the benefits of its poor patients. Personally, I especially like the overview & management policies....
Check out the contributions they wish to do for their patients... And their visions... Hope it would not deteriogate like what has been for many healthcare organisations which started off with a worthy vision...
With that, I end my 'story'. My plan would be SIMPLE. To take up 'Shift C' for that day. People who are interested to join us can private message me your contact & register yourself here...
If there're people who prefer the other shifts because of some reasons, I'll be happy to coordinate so that you people can move out as a 'team' too.... Nonetheless, even if you've decided NOT to join us (the Sgforums batch). But KINDLY give your SUPPORT for this event by either participating on your own or with your own friends; let more people know about this event; or simply by putting in more $ or buying more flags when we approach you that day... Please do NOT hide from we... I'm quite sure we're SARS-FREE!!

You can register here... Was told that we'll be assigned a collection point nearest to our staying address.... Was thinking if we register individually, maybe we can meet up somewhere central for the thing... Alternatively, we can all request to a same collection point (either individually or as a group). Not sure about the locations of the collection area yet though? The date's slowly drawing near, response has been quite bad. I just have a few words to add here...
1st of all, response is up to you people. I cannot deter your decision. 2nd. Kidney failure is a SERIOUS problem. Having the diease itself is enough a torment for the patients. The trouble of them having to go through the dialysis and the financial pull down the patients' gona be to the family ESPECIALLY during this moment of crisis. Not the patients themselves wish to be in the state they're in today. The kind of burden they think of themselves as to their family members... I think the least we can do for them is to help them in their financial KILLER. Patients from KDF are really those who CANNOT afford the expenses. KDF is NOT affiliated to NKF and is heavily covered by VOLUNTEERS who don't get much credits in return for their deeds. I'm not asking anybody to do any donation. The LEAST you can do is to help them out in selling the flags.
