i guess i will be curious as to how things will work out..its a case of curosity vs risk..and i think i will definitely regret if i turn down the opportunity to find out how things will progress beyond the friends stage for us..

Like what u say, its old flame, not new. To even thought of breaking with present gf or bf is a sign that you are not really serious with your realtionship.
Relationship are not easy to build up, to crash it just like this, is it worth it? Have you consider how your gf or bf will feel if you are going to break off just becoz "Old flame gao bai to you"??
Bottomline: struggling with thoughts of breaking only signify how much you love your present partner -
