On the contrary, LOOKS are primary for anyone who looks at anybody, especially for a partner. However LOOKS are not a... errr.. suitable analysis of one's character/personality as a whole. Ergo, LOOKS are important, but so are other qualities.
I believe that for girls, LOOKS will get you access to them, but it will take more than LOOKS to continue to remain with them. This is the same thing with Jobs, why the heck did Clinton get minimal crap from scandals? Because he looked good too.
Face it LOOKS are important, but so are other qualities too. -
Mainly it is how a person presents himself/herself. Cos it reflects what kind of person he/she is.
Most importantly would be the inner beauty.
Cos looks fade, but inner beauty doesnt.
Looks....merely aid in the initial encounter.....

Compatiability even more important.
Verdict?
Looks cannot help to manage relationship. It simply satisfy nature's behavior. (Masculine energy attracts to femanine energy and vice vista. Pretty and handsome has deeper and stronger vibes).
Personality varies with different people (for ladies, different time of the month as well). Generally, people have not much of a problem with personality (this is shown by people having more friends than enemies/people dlsliked). Acceptance and keeping an open mind makes things easier.
Why compatibility most important?
You can have a damn good-natured, loyal, faithful pretty girl, together with a SNAG, decent, boyish looking guy and the relationship still dies because of incompatiability.
You can have road-kill face or awesome looking ones, sh|t personality or great ones, yet your relationship fails. This is because at first glance, subconscious love desire seeks for similarity in personality. When it has it, later, (likely when in a relationship already), it seeks for complementary personality - in simple, what I meant is that their characters have to complement one another, filling each other's flaws with their strength.
Personality is one person's effect, compatiability is two person's result. That's the difference.

Accepting, improving, not comparing and every little thing that is used to shape your perfect love. We understand more of our partner every day and if this understanding is put into use, this love can blossom beautifully. Astrologically or personally speaking - free will is what you have to make your relationship good or sh|t. Basically, everyone has that resource, although it is often under-used.
P.S: The most incompatiable/conflicting relationship often have very strong magnetic aura that draws the two people together. (Check out those especially who break-patch several times) Although most of them ended up hell, but when you do ask why didn't they leave the relationship for good, they would often say they can't - of course, the ordeal would have to go pass an exceeding level, before the relation is shattered.

First of all, have to ask, is looks really that important? If by judging by looks, there are lots of things that blind someone from finding out the good qualities of the opposite sex.
In reality, character will last but "Looks" will not last as it will fade when you grow old!!!!!
