HDB's bomb shelter...

Anyone ever wonder wat will happen bombs were to be dropped above the our flats and we were in the bomb shelter trying to save ourselves... To me, i think the bomb shelters from the whole storey will be lined up from 1st to 12nd... Cuz they are suppose to be able to resist the bombing effect... Imagine one whole line of shelter still standing with the building collasped...
Donno whether if i will live to the day to see this "funny" moment... -
that "bomb shelter" is a farce..
it'll protect from shrapnel... but if an artillery shell slams into it, you're dead..
also, think about it... it was made by the same idiots who cannot seem to fix sprawling concrete and cracks and stuff.. you think the "shelter" will protect you? -
meaning instead of people dieing all over the place, people die in one place?

bomb falls and u see columns of storeroom everywhere and then the wind start to blow and they topple like dominos...... the design is crap lah.

it's just thicker walls.......shock-resistant........but no say is bomb-resistant.......

aiya, when the war comes no one will stay in flats lah. The guys will be fighting the war/fire and the rest of the people will be hiding at underground shelter. Who in the world will stay in flats when war start? The ones underground are more effective than those in HDB. Since land is already so scarce... to put a bomb shelter within the structural design is uncalled for.

If war were to come at all, even the underground shelter will be useless after a few hits; just turn into a mass grave.

i think even if the bomb shelter columns are left standing during the war, so how? wait inside there without any means to escape?
somemore, whose interested in bomb proof shelter? what if its not artillery shells coming in but chemical warfare? you will be doomed as you will suffer and die inside without any means of escape... -
Do u know that there is a telephone socket and power socket inside the bomb shelter!!!
So we are supposed to bring a tv inside if a war breaks out? -
Usually the communication and electrical line will be knocked out at the initial contact. Not unless you have a backup, else everything will fail.

actually the HDB bomb shelters are to protect you from nearby explosions and sharpnel + the shockwaves...
it is not meant to protect you from a direct hit...
a super-thick protective wall would be needed to protect you from a direct hit...
and tat would not be cost feasible and the design i think would really sucks... -
