Does my boss want more?

Hi all, I am very curious about this, so if anyone can give me an insight, I will appreciate it a lot.
What happened was, my boss recently gave me a blue zirconia pendant for my xmas present. I was the only one in the outlet to get this from him. He told me that me & another girl got the most expensive presents. Hers was a Hard Rock collectible bear. The rest of them either got a pen or tee or something else. I wasn't even in the company long... when my colleagues saw what I got, they kept quiet & gave me looks. So what I want to know now is, does my boss want more? He's married with 3 kids & just turned 34. What do I do? -
just be wary of him. If he has any advances, then make it clear to him.
U hav a bf? Show your bf to your boss too.

i dun have a bf now. He doesn't make any advances to me at all. In fact, we only associate on work basis. Which is why it baffles me. I admit that we do hit off at work. But apart from that, we don't talk about personal stuff. I really dun want my colleagues to think that I'm pulling strings to get promoted.

In any company there will bound to be gossips....
So I guess the most important thing is that you just do what is right and not bother about what others have to say..since there's nothing much u can do about it....sometimes the more u try to explain the more complex things will get....rumours will die down if there's completely no truth in it....
If u get a promotion...u can prove to your colleagues that it is based on your capabilities and not via pulling strings...although this is hard and will take sometime....truth will come to light one day.... -
1. Perhaps he might be interested in you.
2. Perhaps you have been more vocal abt what you'd like to get for Xmas than others.
3. Perhaps he dun like the rest of the workers.
4. Perhaps he dun noe what to get for the rest of the workers. -
well, no, i haven't been vocal abt what i want. In fact, it was totally unexpected. I guess no 4 seems to be more plausible.

it seems ur conscience is clear and u don't wanna get involved in any of this work politics stuff, so for now that, to me, is the best u have. -
Don't flood your minds with such unneccessary thoughts. What do you mean 'what do you have to you?' There is nothing for you to do. Its probably only a present and that's it. In normal cases, why would a man wanna give an expensive gift to anyone (man or woman) if he doesn't have ulterior motives? Unless that someone has made a lot of money for him to deserve it else he has affections for her.
It is a potential problem.
But there is nothing for you to do now until he proceeds further. What you can to now is hopefully you can have a trusted friend in company whom you can confide in this problem. If you do not, pls do not rush in to get one.

one possible reason could be u look or act like sum1 close to him
maybe datz y he could treat u differently, but no sweat abt it
always act blur when in tis type of sticky situation
unless his actions r veri obvious, den u might haf to tok to him
ther r certain thgs in life beyond our control
do nt let thes thgs bother u too much, or else u might feel too stress -
thanks all for the replies. after i received the present, I did act blur. So i think he has not made any moves. i think i'm safe. for whatever reason he gave it to me, i think u guys r right, i don't have think too much unless he really made any move.

all u ppl out here who thought that the boss got ulterior motive, i tell u....might be absolutely wrong. she is a new staff so to make her more motivated and welcome, the boss will buy a better gift. simple as that. if u r the boss, u might think this way also. because u call the shots as the boss.

If things really go bad, da next time yr boss gives u another ex stuffs compared to yr colleagues. u can politely refuse or juz accept it 7 share wif da rest.
Welcome! To da REAL world... Working enviornment is where u can see all da ugly stuffs of humanity... but oso da good side too lah... Juz take it in yr stride & learn along da wae.
