Think that makes me a UNDIFFERENTIATED PARANOID...?Originally posted by Bear:Been too busy in the past, and missed out this post.. Dunno if you still want it, but this is what I learn about Schizophrenia in my Psychology class.
Problems of is mainly
- Perceptual
Hallucinate by seeing and hearing things that are not there. Usually you will hear commands telling or something beckoning you to do stuff.
- cognitive
Delusions, often associated with thoughts of being followed, have some extraoridnary power or thinking of artistes falling in love with you.
Subtypes
~ Disorganized
Having thoughts that are odd and often have no links to each other, this is the most common problem. can just talk and talk lots of things out, but there is things may not associate to each other. Well if you can write a para of your prob as above, likely you don't fall into this type.
~ Catatonic
This type is charaterised by one just stop doing things half way and freeze there, but one will still know the things that's going ard him. Just the mind didn't want to control the legs to walk so stop there.
~ Paranoid
This one is a different from other subtypes. One can still have a trend of well-thought out ideas, and pattern of thinking, but has persucutary delusions. Like feeling annoyed, or fearful, or uncertain. Like who feels unsafe and suspect that someone is trying to stab you on the back kind of thing.
~ Undifferentiated
This is more commonly known as multiple personality disorder like what fireice had mentioned earlier... One can just change from one character to another just like you switch the channels of the tv.
How old are you?? I feel that likely it's the hormones in your body that's creating all the trouble that's all. We all have funny times in our lives, and it's usually becoz of excessive of certain hormones being activated. Should be better after taking some medication.
Hehhehheh... Take care then..?Originally posted by RuthBaby:NO....

It's pretty dangerous here, when people give the wrong kind of advice. No offence, FireIce.Originally posted by FireIce:does not sound like schizo...more like eating disorder?? or mebe juz stress...
hiaK~
schizo is a thousand times more serious than u described and u have to be "certified" by a psychologist (not a psychiatrist) to be a real schizo
the case study i came across last time is about an american lady who is 38 years old...she is a manager of a small advertising firm...her colleagues see her as a hardworking and serious boss...
however she has this 'other person' in here, which is a 8-year old girl...when the 'attacks' come, she will talk in a whiny voice and ...
No offence, but you're saying a bit too much? Your intention might have been to clarify things but the MOST VALUABLE LINE in your POST would be 'The best person to tell you is still your psychiatrist.'Originally posted by shenderz:It's pretty dangerous here, when people give the wrong kind of advice. First, the diff btw a psychologist and a psychiatrist is that the latter is both a psychologiest and a medical doctor. That means, a psychiatrist can prescribe medicine but a psychologist cannot.
Second, schizophrenia has nothing to do with 'split personality'. Schizophrenia is 'split-mind ilness'. The sufferers may hear voices or hallucinates. So if you see someone talking to himself, he is mostly likely schizophrenic. There are several types of schizophrenia.
Split personality is a totally diff kind of mental illness. The case mentioned is that of split personality, whereby the sufferer presents more than one personality. This type of illness is pretty rare.
One should be careful about the info one gives, lest it misleads others or worse, put others at risk.
Raingal, you may be suffering from schizophrenia or you may not. The best person to tell you is still your psychiatrist. Dun hesitate to clarify with him.
All the best and take care
I agree "It's pretty dangerous here, when people give the wrong kind of advice" to a certain extent, but from what I observed in sgforums, u juz hav to gauge for yourself which r the correct advice to listen to, right? Anyway, some answers are common sense, juz that when u r blinded by luv, u cannot see the light, got it? So not all advices given here r "dangerous"...Originally posted by shenderz:It's pretty dangerous here, when people give the wrong kind of advice. No offence, FireIce.
