There could be something lacking from his younger gf which he desires.
It doesn't matter how many years younger. What matters is on what values they stood by.
May i also suggest that if a 26 man desire for love and sex which a 16 yr old could give. This 16 year might be able to offer what a 20-26yr old lady couldn't.

To add on: Maturity in love is not always proportionate to our chronological age. I consider 6 - 7 (if inclusive of level 0) stages in levels of love maturity - everyone belongs to either one. Logically speaking, as we are older, we should be wiser in BGR sense, but sadly, many rejected the lessons offered and chose to repeat them in the future.
Not even the NUMBER of times we been in a relationship will make us wiser. More often than not, those who have been through countless of relationship, learn much less than the ones who have been through fewer, lasting and more fulfilling relationship.
