Best Girl School (Primary)

Can anyone advice? My daughter is entering Primary within 2 years time. Want to know how best to have her probability increase by getting into some good primay school for girls only.

It depends on where u live. Choose a school nearby so your kid don't waste time travelling. Choose one with afflialation so that she can easily enter after PSLE. Top girls' sch. like RGS has very high cut-off points. U will not be able to go to their Sec. sch. if u don't meet their standard. Consider putting her in mission sch. like CHIJ, they teach the kids to be more caring towards each other & your daughter will get to be with her friends for the next 10 yrs.

but it's bery competitive and u have to be living within 1km of the school for the highest chance......
if there are more applicants than seats, then have to go thru balloting.....

Without any additional info on what kind of sch u are looking for... i think we cant advice u much here lah... go check out the MOE website lor

My girl is different (shall leave the explanation out here) so my wife and myself believes she will be better in an all girl school.
We live in Jurong East but will be moving out later this year or early next. She enters Primary 1 in 2006. -

Why girls school? Later your daughter cannot interact properly with boys than you know. Like me in a mixed school already cannot interact...

All girls school is better, less distractions from the boys esp. secondary sch. If u don't have affiliation, then I suggest u volunteer your services to get in. The kids from mission sch. speak & write better. They also inculcate love for literature, speech & drama, debates etc.

depends on where you stay, since you are moving out of jurong. get one of resonable distance, so your girl no need to travel too far to go to sch.
check out if the sch is within the distance from your house, check out the sch, do volunteer work if needed, donate money, give free tution etc. -
Pri. Girl's Sch. i know of are RGS (in Balmoral), MGS (in Clementi i think), PLMGS (Serangoon), CHIJ (incl. T.Payoh, Kellock, Katong), St Anthony (in Bedok), St Margaret, St Joseph. Those sch. with affiliations are harder to get in cos they give priority to siblings & old girls. U have to do volunteer work to get in. If u aim for RGS, make sure your kid is very smart cos they expect the parents to provide tuition & monitor the kids' progress. They will stream the kids every yr. The clever ones get to go to better class. Also chances of getting into Triple Sc. harder cos everyone is so smart. Putting yr daughter in all girls sch. is still the best i feel cos nowadays the teens start relationship early. With less distraction, they can study better. My daughter doesn't interact with boys fr boys sch. nearby during her sec. sch. days. In JC, she has no problem getting along with the guys cos she is taught to be vocal, sociable & confident.
