Image-conscious singaporeans?

hey guys
Is appearance that important, apart than using looks to attract the opposite sex? hmm.. To mi, appearance arent everything, though looking good can boost one's confidence. Seems like the cosmetic surgery industry is making big bucks now that image look upon as owning a ferrari.. -
I guess appearance counts esp in landing a job to getting a bf/gf. That is why it is important to dress neatly & trendy (not necessary branded stuff).
A good hair cut/ makeup can transform an average looking people to attractive. It is learning how to disguise your flaws & playing up your best features.
There is no harm in wearing contacts & braces but I feel that there's no need to resort to plastic surgery unless necessary to correct birth defect. -
i dun really care.. but its impt to appear at least decent.

presentable is good enuf......
if u look good, u feel good oso.....confidence level oso up.....
cosmetic surgery is acceptable, by today's standards, but not overdoing it....
or i would rather put it as enhancements.....
social pressure oso a factor....why gers want big boobs? not bcos the gers want....it's bcos the guys like....why gers want double-eyelids? not bcos the gers want it.....it's bcos the guys like.....
everyday on tv and mags u see pretty gers and guys with good figure....making ppl sub-consciously wanting to be like them.....cos they attract attention, they are popular....so they resort to slimming pills, cosmetic enhancements..... -

well, given the vast array of advert and commercials on beauty treatments, well-claimed slimming programmes and bust enhancements, it seems that the term 'beauty' has been redefined. This portrayal of 'beauty' - not from within, but from one's appearance, is more or less eating away humanity.
however, undoubtedly, those with genetically-blessed looks will certainly be a step ahead in terms employment when looking for jobs... -
Easy. Bleach your hair. try and look JAp. Get some friends and make fake CD covers of you, and show around, it helps meeting girls
