A low-quality version of the four-minute Sky News report on IRON MAIDEN's visit to Mumbai, India to kick off the group's Somewhere Back In Time - World Tour '08 can be viewed below.
The Somewhere Back In Timetrek
revisits the band's incredible history by focusing almost entirely on
the '80s in both choice of songs played and the stage set, which is
based around the legendary Egyptian production of the 1984-85 Powerslave tour. This is arguably be the most elaborate and spectacular show the
band have ever presented, and includes some key elements of their Somewhere In Time tour of 1986/7, such as the Cyborg Eddie.
According to Sky News, IRON MAIDEN has become the first rock band to use a single aeroplane to take the
group's members, their crew and equipment on tour — with their lead
singer as the pilot.
"I came up with a crazy idea: just imagine all the gear, all the crew and the band, everybody all on the same aeroplane," Bruce Dickinson explained.
The aircraft (flight number: 666) is pretty easy to spot.
It has "Iron Maiden" painted on the side and their skeleton mascot Eddie on the tailfin.
