after you made your $100m, you'll pretty much do what will nett you the next $100m quickest. look at u2, after the joshua tree, they pretty much sucked, album after album. but they continue to rake in the dollars though. today, i cringe at bono's `make poverty history' crap.
i think the same with metallica. with all the riches and fancy living (girls, booze and more girls), you'd think they will take a back seat to enjoy all the trappings.
i think only folks like nine inch nails are still staying true to their `roots'.

.....can't blame the bands though, they are signed under the record company, their hands are tied. furthermore, these bands' members are borned with music in their blood, playing infront of a big crowd gave them the rush. Don't expect them to retire and hang around below HDB void deck... -

.....haha, seems like the photo was taken during a family outing. Actually, metal bands dress up very simply nowsaday. Unlike those from the scandinavian.For christ sake, it's only the sign on fee, more to come later. There are so many bassists dying to be part of metallica, Ron can considered himself lucky just to be in the set up..
