DRAGONFORCE ULTRA BEATDOWN WORLD TOUR LIVE IN SINGAPORE 2009

2009 Grammy Nominee metal band DragonForce returns to Singapore with a one-night only concert at D’Marquee, Downtown East on Saturday, 11th April 2009. Nominated for Best Metal Performance for the track ‘Heroes of Our Time’ in the coming Grammy awards on 8th February, DragonForce has achieved incredible worldwide success over the past two years with their explosive and entertaining live shows.
The Singapore leg of the world tour will feature songs from their latest album ‘Ultra Beatdown’ as well as hits from their previous albums. Their last album ‘Inhuman Rampage’ sold in excess of 350,000 copies in America alone, over 85,000 in the UK and 600,000 worldwide, spawning the US Gold single ‘Through The Fire and Flames’, thus giving DragonForce the cachet of being the most successful new British metal act in America for two decades!
‘Ultra Beatdown’ is the album that has taken DragonForce to new heights, and has escalated to the Top 20 charts in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Taiwan, Singapore and the Top 10 in Japan.Dragonforce’s Hong Kong born guitar virtuoso Herman Li stated “I always knew we would have a good shot at success in the Far East, the people there like a good show and appreciate good music. Many bands don’t pay enough attention to the countries in that area of the world! The last Far East tour in 2007 came at the end of an 18 month long World Tour, but we all promised fans we would play there live and honoured that promise. I’m looking forward to playing Hong Kong, but we’ll put on a great show for all the fans in China, Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore! It is great to be back!”
DragonForce’s appeal extends beyond music fans; Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock fanatics will definitely recognise the song ‘Through the Fire and Flames’ from their ‘Inhuman Rampage’ album. This is listed as the most popular song on the game’s official website. With the game spanning all three major consoles: Xbox 360, Wii and Playstation 2, the latter song will possibly be the best exposed Metal single to gamers, being notorious as the most difficult to play in the game.
