Swedish viking metal group Amon Amarth has posted a short message online regarding the passing of Evile bass player Mike Alexaner and Evile themselves, who were on tour with Amon Amarth when Alexander passed away. The message reads as follows:
"Due to the tragic and untimely passing of EVILE's bassist Mike Alexander, they have dropped off the tour until further notice.
"We in Amon Amarth and our crew would like to send out our condolences to Mike Alexander’s family and Evile."
Benefit Fund Set Up For Evile Bassist's Family
UKThrash.co.uk has set up a special fund in honour of Evile bass player Mike Alexander, who passed away while the band were on tour in Sweden on monday. A posting on the UKThrash foums reads:
"After the recent tragic news of the death of Evile bass guitarist Mike Alexander, it has been decided that the UKThrash PayPal account will be open to voluntary donations, to which anyone in the UKThrash community (and beyond) can contribute.
"When the time comes, the full amount raised will be forwarded to Mike's family, or to a charity of their choice. Donations can either be made through the donations button on the left of this site, or by sending money via PayPal to [email protected]. If sending directly via PayPal (i.e. not through the "Donate" button on the left), please mark the amount as a gift, as there is a small transaction charge by PayPal which will be skimmed from the amount if it is marked as anything else."
Benediction Comments On Evile Bassist's Passing, Announces South American Tour
British death metal veterans Benediction has posted a brief but sincere message online regarding Evile bass player Mike Alexander, who passed away while the band were on tour in Sweden two days ago. The message reads as follows:
"We lost another friend in the metal family. 32 is no age for anyone to go. We suggest you all go to the Evile site and show your support for the rest of the band who must be going through hell at losing their brother at the beginning of their biggest tour they had done."
In other news, the band has confirmed that they will be making good on their promise to tour South America and they will kick off their trek this December. Although no dates have been confirmed, the band state that they will be playing shows in Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Peru and Columbia.
Seregon To Hold Benefit Show For The Daughter Of Evile Bassist Mike Alexander
British thrash metal outfit Seregon has announced that all money made from their forthcoming EP release show will be donated to the daughter of Evile bass player Mike Alexander, who passed away while the band was on tour in Sweden yesterday. The event will be held at Yate Community Centre on October 30th and will feature a special raffle that includes signed items from Megadeth and Testament. Also performing on the night will be Brink Of Extinction, Hope Of The Hated and Area 51.
